"Kingdom of the Spiders" was pretty bad.  Saw it when it was out over 30 years back - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076271/

Clearly there are many atrociosly poor films, and lots of diverse opinions too.

Here are a few of my own personal dreck list.

Bringing out the Dead
The Talented Mr Ripley
Girl, Interrupted

All 3 my wife and I saw together, in theatres.  We both sat through them in their entirety under the misaprehension that perhaps the other person saw some value in the movie.

Thankfully our relationship has now matured to where we can lean over and say "are you enjoying this crap, or can we leave" without fear of reprisal!

As for some of the others on this list, I have not seen many, and unlike other threads that call out good stuff, I won't run out to see them!

How about Footloose? It's so bad, I would put in the "Unintentionally Hysterical" category because it's so terrible and absurd, it has turned into a comedy for me.

+1 on this. forgot about this one!!!! Add dirty dancing as well. Virtually the same movie anyway

But I can watch Footloose now and laugh my arse off, I think Dirty Dancing is just sad... It's like Twilight with a few dance numbers.  :green:

Star Wars episodes I-III have to be considered with the huge budget expended...terrible terrible storytelling, great actors giving stale blue screen performances. The charm of the old ones never shows. I'd watch some Michael Bay any day over these.

No worries, but I addressed it simply from my perspective as a viewer, without any idea of what the director had in mind.

OTOH, the only movie I ever fell asleep during, and all four of us walked out of the theater on, was "Comes a Horseman" (I think) from the early-mid-70s.   :shake:
i fell asleep during the original star wars flick.  definitely up there w/worst of all time, but conan the barbarian was worse!  thankfully, i watched hardly any movies for ~30 years, so i didn't have the pleasure of seeing most of the rot...

The worst movie ever made, ever, is "The Gods Must Be Crazy".
are you sure you aren't crazy?

that was not only not bad, but in fact quite excellent.  imo, of course.   :green:

Pffft...I can see someone hacking on the prquels, but give me a break. The original Star Wars won a handful of Academy Awards...saying it's "up there with the worst of all time" is just ridiculous.... :shake:

Edit:  Though I'm told Jar-Jar Binks was up for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy

I think Kill Bill 1 and 2 suck.  Seemed to me that Tarantino was having a creative lapse.  A long one, apparently :duh:.  The formula worked for his bank account, I'm sure, tons of people saw them.  He redeemed himself with his next film.

Nice thread, love it!  Don't know if this was mentioned yet- 'Get Carter' or 'Carter' starring Sylvestor Stallone. Absolutely the dullest, piece of crapola ever made period. If you see the dvd in the bargain bin for $1 your being ripped off .

Yeah, that one is pretty bad, alright.  Belongs on the list.

There were rumors going around for a while that the torch for the next series was going to be passed to Ridley Scott.

I take a small amount of issue with your assessment of Cyborg, since it directly impedes some fond memories of my childhood.

I remember watching this movie on HBO in the summer, late night in the basement when I was a kid. I thought it was the coolest thing since it was a movie that I was clearly not supposed to be watching. I think I remember it had boobies in it, which made it even cooler.

I have not watched it in probably 15 years for fear or having it ruined for me. I have it on a nostalgia pedestal, and it likely is as bad as you say.

Thanks for bringing it back into the forefront of my mind for a brief moment. Its nice to relive those memories every once and a while.  :thumb:
apparently the movie was taken from the director, Albert Pyun, as he was doing final cut. The rock soundtrack was replaced with a synth score (crappy), and some violence cut.  Pyun is selling hi directors cut online. A comparison here: http://moviemavericks.com/2011/03/cyborg-directors-cut-vs-studio-cut/

That's the worst part! It's a well acclaimed film!  :duh:

I'd rather spend an entire summer day dredging a cesspool than I would having to watch five more minutes of this movie.

I'd rather watch paint dry on a slow growing lawn.
