Plink -- I can't "have Sean Casey" or anybody else buy my speakers. If I could do that, I would sell them to you right now and be done with it.

This thread was called out for being annoying. I don't really know why -- but the thing about it that got annoying for me was the questions that had been asked and answered repeatedly. And I had an itsy problem with some of the churlish crap that was tossed at me.

The auction idea died a natural death. It was always speculative and I fail to see how it threatened anyone here. The preamp detour just evolved and it was recommended that it be "splintered" into another thread. I don't know if I was supposed to do that or how I would go about it.

Bear in mind that nothing that transpired drew any comment from admin.

When I had to admit that we were going nowhere, I bumped a couple of other ads and shut up. Now this plink guy must have missed the palaver so badly that he elected to furnish us with an insolent insertion and an instant vault once again to the top of the charts.

Let him know if you appreciate him bringing me back or if you would rather we let the whole thing lapse again toward oblivion. I'm more than willing to see it go because I am convinced that continuing it will not result in a sale.

the point was more: if sean casey doesn't want to buy back your speakers and make easy money ($7,500 less your price) then sean casey is full of baloney. I see that you missed it.

As I said before you need to update your first post with these price drops. If someone were to look at this thread and was semi interested they would see the first post at $7500 and then probably lose interest when they saw the thread was 24 pages long.

i agree w/his point about your first post to this thread - you should revise it to indicate the speakers are awailable for $6750, & the eq at no extra charge...

Thanks, everyone. It was a bloody big adventure. And my man in Norway is happy. Even with the shipping costs and the whopping 25% import tax he has to pay, he comes out ahead. The Def 2 sells for $15,509 in Norway.

He took the Crown and the EQ too so those of you who were waiting to pounce on those items will be disappointed.

I still have a very nice pair of JBL L-200 speakers for sale. 15 inch woofer and a horn. Classic speaker from JBL's peak years in 1975. One of you guys could bypass the crossover and actively biamp these beauties.
Put the NAD 2200 on the woofs and your tube of choice on the horn. Nice Marchand XO. What a rig!!!

Thanks, but I already have the SP3 and the rest of your gear is a little bit beyond the demographic of my humble rig, although I do covet the Well Tempered TT.

I guess I'm more proof of Tvad's theory that AC is not the best place to sell gear, which leads back to his question, from whence DID you snag a buyer in Norway?

I was able to tell by virtue of the price he had seen that he found me on AC. So I asked him what his AC name was. He said he is not a member. He Googled the speakers and my AC ad came up so he got in touch.

The length of my thread is what connected me with the buyer. As someone pointed out, my AC ad was second only to the 6moons review in that category on Google.

The story has a happy ending only when the money shows. We currently have an initiated, but not consummated, wire transfer pending. I have confirmation that it has been sent so all I need is the phone call from my bank.
