Germany is by far is the best country in the world for locating Gothic music with the UK a close second. In fact, a music order will be shipped from the UK on the 05 Aug and as a result, the end effect will most likely rival the cost of my X-05 - can anyone read between the lines?

In order to protect the innocent, namely me, all inquiries will be ignored (politely) until the UK order arrives

Very unlikely to come close to 1000 CDs for this year - only a little over 5 months to Christmas The pleasant surprise for this year so far is the Goodwill purchases as I have only brought home a handful of "bombs."

Paid a visit to Sonic Boom yesterday and picked up a hand full of CDs. Could not help noticing that "used" prices are slowly creeping up to that of new CDs from online suppliers. Their Gothic section seems to be getting smaller with every visit  Oh well, it is still fun sorting through hundreds of CDs searching for that very special "find." After all, my hobby is collecting music

If you haven't already you might want to check out goHastings.com. They have a pretty good used CD selection and if you watch the site they regularly run specials. Last week they had used CDs at 40% off. I picked up 48 CDs for about $130.  You usually have to send about 15% of them back because they are damage to the point where they will not rip to FLAC. If you send them an email they will usually pay for the return shipping though.

Today is a most auspicious day as Laundrew's vinyl - yes, vinyl mail order arrived today from the United Kingdom. Oh please be still, a fragile beating heart as now the sweet, succulent sounds of Gothic music not released on CDs will grace a humble abode. Now to search for a record cleaner and then a turntable in the new year.
