First order of the year...

Metallica - Some Kind of Monster EP - Has several live tunes on it
Metallica - St. Anger Singles 1& 2 - Have Ramones covers on them
Anthrax - Persistance of Time

I'm not big on buying singles, but the B-Sides (can you call them that on CDs?) of the Metallica singles are pretty cool. They were used imports from amazon, which totaled about $10. Easily worth the price.

While savouring a morning cup of coffee, containing 2 milk and 1 sugar, Laundrew is alerted by Hector that some, unknown entity is encroaching on their humble abode. Laundrew rises with coffee in hand - Hector is his vanguard as they make their way to the front window. Arriving at their destination, Laundrew smiles as he gazes into Hector's loving, brown eyes and praises him for his diligence.

A chin scratch quickly follows for Hector, his head raised high as his eyes roll back - a hind foot rapidly "taps" out his bliss - a Boxer smile is evident. Laundrew's eyes moisten as it is great to see Hector back on full duty.

Looking out the window, a FedEx truck eclipses the city street - oh please be still my fragile, beating heart! A music order is nigh.

Hmmm... I should stop purchasing CDs and then the price would go down and then I could start buying again and save some cash. Oh well, I have to spend the cash somewhere that I am saving now that the blood sucking PT Cruiser is gone - my goodness, can I finally afford a pair of Everests now??

What I have noticed are a lot of individuals are starting to sell off their CD collections, some ads you see them selling a hundred or so CDs for $50.00 because they have transferred their collections to hard drives - I hope they have everything backed-up. This is great for individuals such as myself to pick up some mainstream music here and there that I would not normally purchase.

I cherry picked a cd jazz collection that a fellow had brought into my record store last fall. I picked up 20 or 25 cd's, some that I really wanted and are hard to find and some that I thought would be good to have and they are. I missed out on a rock collection that came into another store and it was picked over by the time I stopped by.

Picked up Gare du Nord's "Jazz in the City". That may bring me to 10 or 12 for the year so I have some serious purchasing to do if I want to reach 184. In fact I just did a quick count and I only own 350 cd's.
