What's most interesting at this stage of the thread is the stunning and unexplained reversal in MM's tone.

Confusing to read and poorly written, this report lacks credulity.tvad4,since you are pointing out others flaws, i thought i would ask if your credibility is compromised since you spelled credibility wrong yourself ??? you want to ignore the real message over the way something was written.i have done business with MAUIMODS and one thing they are not out for is SELF PROMOTION. they are after the truth and this really showed by identifying a major flaw in the opus. it now appears that this flaw was known by the company and others. it was decided to be concealed from the consumer. i believe we should be grateful that a company like MAUIMODS informed everyone of this, before many of the opus units were sold. regardsbillUm...you may want to grab a dictionary and look-up credulity.

Whether or not MM chooses to disclose the reason is his decision to make.Even so, I've seen no "reversal" in his tone regarding his analysis of the OPUS or questioning of Olive. His tone has mellowed as he's calmed down, but he hasn't backed away from his published findings. To me, that these issues exist was and is the interesting part of this thread. The rest is more like a soap opera.
All of this causes me to wonder why Hermstedt has never added a larger harddrive or other audio DAC board(s) to their Hifidelio products. Is anybody fluent in German?
The last thing I want to do is get involved in this, but IMHO Jeff seems pretty under-represented here. Just wanted to point out that Jeff has worked with other companies before, most notably Ayre, BAT, and DNM, providing engineering design work to their products. His track record seems to support the notion that he is indeed "good people" when you talk to the folks from those companies...(disclosure: I'm a former Resolution Audio dealer and really like their products. Stopped being a dealer for reasons not related to product quality and relationship with Jeff)
QuoteSo please Lets keep Jeff and his company and other third parties names out of this Marketing hypXXX oops! ... issue. MauiMods, you were the one to bring Jeff into the discussion with your first post in this thread. Am I the only one confused by the apparent politics at play here?

Yes, please tell me how and why you dragged Resolution Audio into this? Frankly, not only are your communication skills atrocious, but you also appear to have purchased an item using very bad judgement, without doing your homework, and it appears you then want to lay the blame on someone else.Young man, if you take a risk, don't invest more than you are prepared to lose.
Phil, Is your buying decisions of lines you choose to carry, based on a quality products, that walk the talk?Or is it strickly based on Margin?Because that comment you made as a dealer, reflects poorly upon yourself.
You just hit your own nail on it's head! You liked Resolution and choosed to sell it.But since the Margin was very slim, you dropped the line and Picked up Blue circle, That had standard industry margins.

My question is did MauiMods just get a bad batch or were all of the OPUS units built with whatever was laying around the shop?
