Well, I had decided last night that I wouldn't post to this thread since....

First things first. Very well written response John.

Now I have a question that may take this topic off subject a bit. I just finished reading the latest review of the Musica CD Player/Music Server in the August issue of TAS. I was intrigued but obviously not much into this "computer age" audio.

My question is if John or anyone has or has played with the Musica. Is it a decent product for the money? EVen the review mentions a few shortcomings but again, I am not that deeply into the technology. There are no tubes in it so I am lost :dunno:

Don't worry guys, I am NOT at all interested in getting involved with mods for these products. It's just not my thing.

Bill, Its a very Nice product for the money. I wish I had those instead.
Like John said, even better with a nice outboard Dac.
It does not have to cost alot of dough either

While MM is away, how does a member view this thread as "hidden"? You visitors should sign up.

Will Jeff apologize? And what the heck is a S.B. in Electrical Engineering from MIT nonetheless.

from http://www.resolutionaudio.com/about.html
"Jeff Kalt is the founder and design engineer of resolution audio. Jeff has an S.B. In Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology."

Well, we've only heard one side of the story, so it might be premature to decide who is supposed to apologize.  "S.B." is what MIT calls their Bachelor of Science degree...

OLIVE's other dirty little secret that they don't want you to know about is that THEY DON'T USE AUDIOPHILE FUSES   :rotflmao:

Thank you John and MM. I will keep my eye out for some feedback as it comes in on the Musica.

In regard to "closure" on this thread..... yes, it will be interesting to see how everything pans out. Regardless of how things were handled, I am sure consumers would like to know the truth. All flames aside.

Olive offers your a 15 day money back Guaranty.
But they ask you for a 5 % restocking fee.
Before you purchase, I would ask them to waive that restocking fee if you should choose to return it.
You should be able to try it with out any restocking fees.
And you shall be the Judge.
I rather let it be...as
Jeff is great people, and a friend.

Dang. I had an unexpected meeting and I missed the finale ... can't believe they kissed and made up. Very anti-climatic.

This has to be the funniest thing I've read on Audiocircle in a LONG while.  I didn't know there could be so much drama in this hobby

Huh???  Please explain this one to us as he sure didn't sound like your friend before.  You must have known him pretty well all along to now say this.  Was this all an April fools day joke in July?  :green:

Also, please explain your scope measurements (the "pig in the mud")... what scope and probe are you using, where are you scoping and where are you attaching the GND?

I'm just really confused now.

Thanks for your clarification,

Vinnie

Vinny!
So what Dac chip are you going to use in the NEW transporter?
a Ac97?

I used a Meade scope, feet grounded, looking up, in to the sky.

Vinnie, I wouldn't give 2 thoughts to this thread and MM in particular.  His posts, when not threatening, are completely nonsensical.
