A 5kg transformer with EI core is just a small transformer for a good 300B amplifier, a C-core has at least 50% more efficiency with the same core dimensions (weight) not to mention m6 is nowadays not a good quality, we need at least m1 or better (HiB, M0)It's not only a 4 db dip but also the phase response is bad.
yes, it has all to do with winding technique.btw you can see that almost all Monolith Magnetics have a very sharp cut of frequency response, even more then 12dB/oct. It's nice to see that they have high frequency bandwidth but i guess the phase response is pretty bad.
