Webber will starting the race with medium tires, his car was out of gas on Q2, pathetic error from the team.

Qualifying for the China GP was an absolute farce. The faster but much softer Pirrelli tires wear out in two laps and you have to start the race on the ones you qualified with. They also shed rubber all over the track, making overtaking in most corners impossible as off the racing line its like driving on ball bearings. This has always been true, but not having the track covered with rubber shreds after only 3-4 laps.

Pirrelli is the only supplier of F1 tires this year and they picked the two choices for this race: BAD and TERRIBLE

The tires are so horrible that some teams did not even try to quality fast, but used the harder, but more durable tires just to have a chance to make it past the first 5-10 laps of the race without a pit stop for tires.

So qualifying was a choice between going fast for very few laps (one lap fast only in the last qualifying session) or going half fast with harder Pirrelli tires in hopes of better race results.

The result was a true half fast qualifying session! The race might well be half fast too, we shall see.

I hope Pirrelli street tires work better than this. I for one would not take a chance on that.

It is fairly interesting....I guess. When strategy/rules dictate not even trying for pole position, there's something wrong.

That said, I'd still prefer to watch an F1 race over a Sprint Cup race.

F1 is a race of tires, the engines are reliable and seems dont wreck.
I will not watch this race at 04:00 AM, I would like all the teams leave FIA F1 to create a new championship as rumored afew years ago.

Only two drivers didn't try to qualify in Q3, Vettel and Button. I actually enjoy the unexpected. Better than a procession.

Mark Webber was punished for out of gas on Q2 to the last position on the grid, in the past others pilots/teams were punished with ten positions on the grid for doing much worse.
A scandalous fraud in favor of Vettel or Ferrari.

Are there websites I can get here in USA that stream race coverage??? If so...can you leave me a link.....I watch in multimedia mod!!!
I'll be up at whatever a.m. it turns out to be to watch live, I enjoy it!!!
Like mentioned earlier I love the unexpected stuff, like no body goes out in Q2 or whichever it was until the last minutes...!!!
Crazy wild stuff and the tires are sad, its really sad because the technology is there for decent tires each race, I think they should have any choice of tire, engine whatever its racing for God's sake!!!!

All the restrictions make for nothing but a cluster ___k in the end, lets see how really fast they can go.....they got pitstops under 3 seconds so lets see these rockets really, really roll. They'd never have a problem getting drivers, thats the elite, elite so lets let these special 24 dudes go at it!!!!

Bruno Senna was first place in the class LMGTE PRO/ at Six Hours of Silverstone, Endurance Cup 2013 after 171 laps with a AstonMartin, second place was a italian car.

Very interested to see what will happen this weekend.

Qualifying so far with the temperature extremes has had an adverse effect on the tire compound choices...I really would like to see if Mercedes really does have a good package to contend with for the year?

In Jerez de la Frontera-Spain test week Hamilton tried to get into the McLaren garage by walk to ''visitin friends'' and was kicked out by Sam Michael.
Hamilton protest and only now McLaren is releasing his version informing that Sam Michael gently guided Hamilton to the exit:

F1 really would need to re address the GearBox change grid penalty. Lewis Hamilton's Gearbox was clearly the cause of his issues just going down the straightaway, and almost causes him to lose control. IMHO for safety reasons of the driver and all involved they fixed the problem and maintained the level of safety. He gained no advantage and was penalized for a great run at the pole.

BTW, qualifying on the new tires is clearly not indicative on the true potential of the cars potential. It is now down to whose package is easiest on the tires with pace. Out and out speed does not have anything to do with the race trim package. Pirelli has not fulfilled their end of the deal...

With each passing year I like least of F1, the silly and ever changing regulation makes this category a Wacky Race cartoon.

It seems as Pirelli is just doing what the FIA wanted them to do.I know its not right but what can you do,i've been watching F-1 for 30 years and each year it seems to get worse. One of these days i might just give up on it,between the greed of Bernie and the incompetence of the FIA it just doesn't seem like F1 anymore. Changeing the engine spec for next year,while preaching about lowering costs is stupid,how many teams will be out of F1 due to costs.As for Pirelli they should get out before their reputation is further ruined,as they seem to get a lot of bad press.

Strange actions of the race manager of F-Indy here in São Paulo.
The Q3 was cut apart in two sets, one with 12 cars other with 13.
In the first Q3 the Frech pilot Simon Pageneaud hit the wall:

In the second Q3 James Jakes engine broke, the cars were removed from the track, so far no problem.

Unfortunately the race manager cancel the remaining time practice in both Q3 and various pilots were prejudiced, they dont had fast lap yet, cause they had given only slow laps to warm the tires.
If this is not manipulating the race result I do not know what is.
