Seahawks lost to the Lions?  The Lions are a crap team and I may have overestimated the Seahawks talent level.  They are a young team and have already played over their heads, and have benefitted from some bad officiating.   This is a strange year and nothing surprises me. The Panthers gave the Bears a scare yesterday.  Thankfully, the real Panthers showed up just in time to give away the game.

Bullshit.  You have no idea what you are talking about.  The Lions are underachieving, but they are not a bad team.  I think they turned a corner, and will go on a run and best some good teams, including the Bears.  You engage in way too much hype, but not much actual knowledge.

It's scary to watch how good Peyton Manning can be when there is a real running game. Glad to see him back in top form  :thumb:

You figure the Broncos, Manning, and Fox are still learning to find their way together.  It was nice to see the Broncs not spotting the opposing team 20+ points for a change.

Agreed. Peyton's making a home in Denver and he seems to be getting more n' more comfortable each week. But he still hasn't taken that blind hit yet. Peyton gets hurt again & the Brono's are out to pasture.

Between Peyton &  last years Tebow, the Brono's are having themselves a nice couple of years.  :thumb:

Let's see, the Lions barely got by the Rams, got spanked by the Niners, Titans, Bears, we're gifted a game by the Eagles and just beat a questionable Seattle team.   Have the Lions played one solid game all year?  No.  Will they make the playoffs? No.  Are they a crap team?  Ah, yep.

Did you see Smegmatron curl up in a fetal position after Peanut Tillman roughed him up a bit on Monday night?  I hope you savor last year's playoff game (the one a Cutler injury helped the Lions achieve) because I suspect it will be the last one you see in a while.

The Lions are the fourth best team in their division...out of four teams.  I don't recall their power ranking but I don't think it helps your case.  They are a bad team.  Don't shoot the messenger.

I'll shoot the messenger when he is full of it.  :o
Talk is cheap. There are nine more games for therm to play.  Let's see where all the teams are at the end of the season.
I'm not sold that the spoiled man-child Cutler will make it to the post season without self destructing.    Remember, the Giants floundered for a good part of the season, and they won it all.

Cutler took a good hit from Suh and didn't miss a beat.  He didn't self destruct last year, he was injured. You should be an expert on qb injuries with your china doll QB Stafford. Looking at the Lions schedule, they have a good shot at 6-10 this year.  Lets see if that gets them into the playoffs.

Monday Night.  Well, you can forget about Arizona contending for much but San Francisco looked spectacular.  They will win their division and go deep in the playoffs me thinks.

Might see Houston in the SB, or New England.  Denver?

Talk is cheap.  Cutler is immature, and I'm not convinced that he will hold up.  We shall see what the records are at the end of the season.

Green Bay is still the team to beat in the NFC North.

Cutler is fiery and tough.   Your Lions know a few things about immaturity. Suh is the most immature player in the game, and he's got the fines to prove it.

I agree the Packers are the team to beat but the Lions have a great chance of finishing in last place in the division.  I look forward to the last game of the season when the Bears play them again.  Are you interested in a wager as to who will finish the season with a better record, Bears or Lions?  I'll take that bet!

I can understand if you are unwilling to put your money where your mouth is.  Talk is cheap.

That is laughable!  Culter is very immature (like a spoiled adolescent), and there is past playoff experience to prove it.  I'm surprised his lineman haven't calibrated him yet.

Yes, talk is cheap.  Let's see where the teams are at the end of the season.  Lest we forget, injuries have a BIG impact on the overall results.  For anyone to state with certainty what the final records will be is somewhere between ignorant and just out and out dumb.

Whenever my brother and I had these kinds of disagreement, usually one puts up a bet, and the other calls or shuts up.  I suspect that $100 one the line would determine how much of this is hot air. Personally, I have no dog in this fight.  There is now way in hell that I would put money on my team, the way the Dallas bunch is playing.

To make a bet nine weeks ahead is just stupid.  As pointed out earlier, a lot can happen over the next half season.  Injuries will play a huge part, so to some extent, all this smack talk is just that, smack.  It really means nothing, other than sticking up for ones team.   :thumb:

Nine weeks out is silly.  Anything over one week is nebulous at best.

Yep, some people talk trash but don't have the stones to back it up.

Let me break it down for you Freo.  The Lions are the worst team in the division, period. They have not put together one solid game all season and are in last place.  They have the best receiver in football, IMO, and I believe he only has one touchdown all season.  How is that even possible?

It's true that Jay Cutler is not the most mature player in the league but when have his actions (as they relate to maturity) ever caused his team to lose a game or get penalized? None that I can recall.  If you want to see real immaturity, you dot have to look far.  Suh is the most immature player in the league. He has selfishly put his out of control emotions over the team since he's been in the league.  His immature actions have resulted in numerous penalties, fines and a suspension.  I can't recall Cutler ever doing any of these things.

I've seen enough of the Lions to conclude they are exactly where they belong, the basement of the division.  You can make all of the excuses you wish, reality doesn't change.  Lions = Crap team.

PS - I could do without the name calling. It's not my fault got team sucks.  You should save the insults for the coach.

Blah, Blah, Blah!  You are just sore over the White Sox collapse  ;)

If one makes inflammatory comments, expect some static back.   When you pass yourself off as a expert, and make outrageous conclusions based on who knows what, you remind me of Skip Bayless.  :green:

Cutler quit on his team in the playoffs last time they were in, so you have that incorrect.  There was a big flare up over that.

Let's see where all the teams are at the end of the season.  Football is too unpredictable to look past next week.

BTW, I'll take Suh on my team anytime.

Hey Fredo,

As a guy who just witnessed the Tigers get swept on the national stage, you are well acquainted with collapse. That was one of the biggest humiliations I have ever seen.  Congratulations.

Suh is talented, no doubt.  Million dollar skills with a ten cent brain.  Perfect player for a Detroit team.  You can have him.

Cutler never quit on the team. He injured his MCL during that NFC championship game, an injury that would have put that delicate china-doll Stafford out for a year.  Cutler has taken a beating over the last coupe years because the Bears have a bad O line but he plays tough, despite his diabetes.

If you are so confident, put your money where your mouth is.  I bet you the Bears will finish with a better record than the Lions.  What do you want to bet, a hundres bucks?  That kind of scratch will buy you a nice house in the Motor City!  Whatta ya say?

Oh, Jackman, that is cold.  Gotta take the Bears myself in that contest tho I'm keeping an eye open for GB for the Division.
