New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles tonight on NBC will IMHO be the game of the week. Both teams need a signature win even thou they're both 2-1. Vick has been close to being benched, even tho he's put up excellent offensive number, he's leading the league in turnovers. The Giants defense will be needing to show up tonight if they hope to steal a win in Philly. I'm really looking forward to watching this  game.  :hyper:

Cheers,
Robin

Good game last night.  :D
It was an interesting first half watching the D-lines on both teams control the game.
The second half brought a lot more excitement and scoring.
Some great Giant D inside the the 5, Vick and the boys were denied endzone access 3 times  :o and had to settle for field goals.
My Iggles squeaked by for their third WIN!  :thumb:
Think Andy was feeling a little nervous after that time out?  :duh:

What a crazy season!  The Pack overcame a bad call to narrowly win that one.  Some thoughts:

Looks like the "real" refs need to get in game shape.

How is Arizona undefeated?

Is Denver now on track?   Payton's arm looks strong.

Are the Giants done?

Is New England legit or are they just beating bad teams?

Which Cowboy team will show up tonight?  Which Bears team will they face?

Is San Fran back on track?

I thought the Vikings were supposed to suck...they looked pretty good the last few weeks.

Is the Pack back?  Did they just beat a bad team or are they starting to find their groove?

Interesting year!  I guess this is what the league wanted.  No way Atlanta and Arizona will stay undefeated for long (right?).  The Texans look tough, can this be their year?

I thought Tines made it on the second kick, right down the middle, just came up short.  Andy, what a maroon.  Okay, maybe you can make a case for icing the kicker on a 45-50 kick, but I doubt it, I really, really hate icing the kicker timeouts.  But never, ever ice the kicker on a long field goal.  All you do is give him practice.  And on long ones you have a 10-15% chance of blocking it.  I almost, but not quite, wanted Tines to make it just to show Andy as the arrogant schmuck he can be sometimes.  I hope this ends all icing the kicker timeouts for the Eagles for at least Andy's reign.

On a brighter note, The Eagles running game has returned, for now, and they are calling quick hitters for Vick in the passing game.  THANK YOU!  Seven yard, three and five step passes open up both the running game and the long pass.  If you read Bill Walsh this is the heart of West Coast offense, hit 'em where they ain't no matter what the yardage, protect your quarterback, possess the ball, then, and only then, strike for the kill.  Good job in the second half for Andy and Marty.

Now I have both of my teams, Eagles and Steelers going at it.  I'll root for good plays.

Roscoe,

That was the most enjoyable Bears game I've seen in a while!  It was great to see Jerry Jones in his plush skybox with smoke coming out of his ears...and road-kill resting on his head!  I wonder if there will be a QB controversy in Dallas?  Orton looked good but the game was already over.

The Bears defense looked good as well, but it didn't hurt that Dallas receivers could not catch a ball and Romo had trouble throwing to the right guys.  If they credited him with total yardage (including Bear defenders) he would have had over 400 yards!

Go Bears!

Da Bears looked very good. Dallas looked very bad and at home.  The NFC East is becoming a toss up.  Congrats Eagles fan.  The biggest stinker of the weekend, however, was the Jets also at home.  My daughter went to school with Miami's Tannehill so we were pulling for the Dolphins.  They came within a hair of beating Arizona.  Arizona is a mover and a shaker right now.  49'ers are the real deal and San Diego is rolling.  Good for you West Coast fans.  My Texans seem to be doin alright, huh.  Denver comin around?  Seems so, Jackman.

An added bonus for the Bears fan was the audible presence of Bears fans at the Cowboys stadium. Love a team with fans who travel.

And I'm glad they do, Robin.  Des Byrant needs some therapy or somethin and Romo needs a perfect game bad.

Didn't think Denver would beat New England at home.  Nor Philly at Pittsburg.  Minnesota surprised me.  Guess Green Bay just isn't that much this year.  Indianapolis surprised.  Way to go Colts.  Gotta respect their rookie QB.  Luck, right?

Jim,
What about the Bears' defense?  Two pick six's again this week and a great second half against a bad Jacksonville team.  I can't wait to see them play the Vikings.

Is Drew Breese the best qb in the game at the moment?  He is among the top three, no doubt. It was grea to see him beat his old team. Payton Manning played great in a surprisingly close game.  He is getting sharper every week.   It's too bad about the fumbles.

I thought it was interesting last night when San Diego got a tough call, correct, but tough, negating an interception for a touchdown that would have likely iced the game.  Then they give up and let New Orleans march all the way down the field to score a TD that gets them back in a game they eventually win.  Conversely when the Steelers got a tough call that takes away a get off the field third down play in the 2nd half of the game, they get pissed and allow zero yards for the next three plays.  I'm sure there were other examples, this is one I noticed, but you can see why some teams collapse year after year despite excellent personnel, and why some teams are there year after year despite changing faces.

Definitely, yes.  The Bears are in the best of the League.

Well, Dallas almost did it.  I think you have to admire thier fortitude.  Who would have thunk that they could run 240 yards on the Ravens.  They sliced em up between the tackles.  Gutsy play calling by Garrett.  Romo still makes me nervous.  He's the most fidgety guy taking snaps in the league.  It was a good game to watch.   I think Dallas' time of possession had to be pretty high.  Of course, it's what you do with that time that matters.  They did very well, imo, just shanked a FG in overtime to lose it.  Dust yerself off, fellas, you're home next week and the Giants may take a whupping in SF.

Or, may not as it appears early in the 4th quarter.  The Giants look fantastic.  Eli came into his own last year and is now one of the league elite QB's.
