Just can't beat the heat
« on: 30 Jun 2012, 02:16 am »
This is not a post about the NBA Finals

I hope everybody's lawns are still lush and green!  I took in a dip in a pool today after work and it felt like I was swimming in hot pee.  This is crazy!!

Never really understood why folks dislike firing up tube amps in the summer, I get it now for sure.  Heck, i refuse to fire up my oven to cook even.  Damn is it blazing hot.

How do you know what swimming in hot pee feels like?  I'm a little concerned. . .

Haha!!

I lived in Chicago for 10 years.  Ever hear of Lake Michigan?

Its 2am, still feels like its 95 degree's outside.  Time to hunker down and sip iced tea.

It's way too damned hot to do anything outside. Been getting lots of listening time the past few days and from the looks of it, for the next week too. :thumb:

What heat?  I just looked at the thermostat and it says the house is 74 degrees.   :D   It was a little warmer yesterday when I was out running some errands.

What's a lawn?  :dunno:

Anyway, yea... The tunes are spinning, the basement is cool, the beer is cold and the mugs in the freezer have ice crystals on them.
Nothing in, on, or around the house is broken and requires my attension, so I'll be tinkering where it's cool.

You'll have to tell me about this "lawn" thing sometime. I was just recently told there's an "outside" I need to experience.

It's very HOT and Humid here in S. Jersey. We had very severe thunderstorms and high winds around 1:30 to 2:30 am. Most if not all of Atantic County is without power, and there are a lot of downed trees across wires and the roads.
The lightshow was awesome last night, it scared the crap outta' me, but I couldn't stop watching. It was just that amazing!

C'mon Bob, you remember the lawn.  Its 'round back, where you shoot guns.   :guns:

StL is hoping & praying for a thunderstorm.  No lightning though!!  We're already closing a lot of big 4th of July fireworks shows due to all the browned out l-a-w-n-s

My car just said its 105, and that gauge is usually only 1 degree hotter than the actual.  Another scorcher!

I shoot off the deck. No reason for me to step foot on the grass.
Speaking of.....Ryan was outside building speakers....in the sunlight....when it was 105 degrees.  :o

He's a nut job.
That's crazy.

Never.  Just can't envision that kind of pool down in that corner of paradise where you live.   :)

Come to think of it, Lake of Egypt resembles that water clarity.  I just can't think of too many places on that lake that have a concrete bottom.

I can see why Ryan is working on speakers outside.  it's perfect weather to go outside and solder together crossovers.  It requires less electricity to bring the solder up to the melting point.   :o
