Let's see how wrong I can get it:

New England beats B'more.

New Orleans squeaks by Green Bay.

In the Bowl, New Orleans by 2.

Well, so much for that. SF stomped on the Terra, and dang it, the Saints were an outright embarrassment.

Maybe next year...

Nomad, I disagree. The Saints played very well and were edged out by a better team.  I really enjoyed the last quarter of the fight.  Two offenses slugging it out like a good heavyweight game. San Fran had home field advantage and needed an amazing drive to pull this one out.

It's good to see a some new faces in the playoffs.  I hope the Texans win their game but would not bet on it.  I also think the G-Men are going to lose to the Packers.  Rogers is the best of a historically good bunch of QB's this year and I think he will take this team to the superbowl.

Today's games should be exciting!

This one was over before it started. When Ennefell Ref is on your side you can't lose. New Orleans is doomed.

At one point in the fourth quarter the announcer stated there were zero penalties called against the Saints all game. Not bad considering the officials were against them.

Turnovers early and inability to stop the 69'ers late in the game killed the Saints' chances. After the final Saints score, I thought hey had the game in the bag. What a finish!

Congrats to the Niners, they look very tough.

Props to Alex Smith who took his team back not once but twice in the waning minutes of the game in very Tebow-like fashion. This was a performance you'd come to expect from a Rogers/Brees or Manning but totally unexpected from Smith (at least by myself). His passes were right on the money and he proved he can be clutch in critical situations.

Alex Smith impreesed the heck of of me.  Tim Tebow just the opposite.

Today, my Texans hit the tundra and I think they're gonna do, well, not much.  Baltimore's D is gonna be on Foster like white on rice.  They're gonna make him run inside like the last time they played when he rushed for less than 100 yards.  So, the X factor is the game plan and the new QB.  I think the Ravens think they are Super Bowl bound and I think they will play like it.  I'm a Ravens believer this season, and a Texans fan.  Oh, well.

Jackman, I don't wanna spin something up, but, I gotta disagree. By the time a team is in the second round, there is simply no excuse for having enough turnovers to be mistaken for a pastry factory (yes, I haven't had breakfast yet). The Saints had an offense that could have carved the 49'ers up all day long: If they had stuck to the short/option stuff, waited for the 49'ers defense to adjust, then hit them with the long ball, the Saints would have won by 17.

One of the commentators even said (not quite) as much on a particular series. Brees was doing short, outside passes (and moving the ball just fine), and the comment was that the reason they were being successful on the series is because they were doing _what Brees doesn't normally do_.

The 49'ers played damn good ball the whole time, while the Saints took a quarter and a half to step up. Now they get to step off the bus, at home.

Houston's pass rush was a thing of beauty today.  I mean those guys brought it!  Too bad Houston's return man handed Baltimore their first touchdown and their QB turned the ball over 3 times, but Houston's defense was even better than they were cranked up to be or that I thought they would be.  I have to imagine the pressure Brady would have been under had they won, which they didn't.

Yeah, that was too close for comfort.  Hard to tell which Ravens team will show up on any given day.   :duh:

It was close but IMHO it never looked liked the Texans would win the game.

Really???

How was that not a fumble by Jennings?

What crappy officiating!  Their incompetence caused a 14 point swing.

We should change the name of this thread to "complaining about officiating".  It was a close call.  So far this has been a good game. If the Packer receivers can learn how to catch, and they don't cough up the ball this game will be over quickly.

The defendig champs are getting great pressure on Manning.

Edit - wow, great hail Mary by Eli and company. Is this a repeat of '07???  The Giants are red hot.

Great half by the Giants, but this game isn't anywhere close to being over.

The Giants squandered some great opportunities in the first half and I hope that doesn't bite them in the ass.

Gotta figure that Green Bay won't keep dropping the ball...

That replay they showed during break was clear that it was a fumble. Either way, nice half.

Refs didn't screw up that fumble.   :green:

Six more minutes and it's off to San Fran!

These officials suck!
