If You Could Send A Few Artists To An Early (Imaginary) Grave Who Would They Be?

I reluctantly have to post on this thread Nathan  :icon_twisted: So here goes Part 1:

Anything that Simon Cowell got his hands near, including (but not limited) to:
Curiosity Killed the Cat, Sonia Evans, Five, Westlife, Robson & Jerome, Ultimate Kaos, World Wrestling Federation, Teletubbies, Zig and Zag, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Leona Lewis, Il Divo, The X Factor and America's Got Talent (but not on this show) etc.etc......

I apologise, on behalf of music loving Brits, for what this cretin has infested the world with.
The fact that morons on both sides of the Atlantic have made him rich by buying this crap leaves me uncharacteristically speechless.

cohen, waits AND dylan? wow

How did complete jokes like Kenny G, Michael Bolton, Yanni and Neil Diamond escape this list?

I'd add anything that could be called "new country". So god awful, probably the last type of music I'd ever want to hear. Okay the debate is starting, more later.

nathanm

Any artist that is being played on MTV...
I thought MTV stopped playing videos entirely awhile back.

Guys....spare Foreigner and Air Supply from your "Death List" for the sole reason that they provided me with many great "make-out" songs back in my high school days......

nathanm

Yeah, Air Supply is too funny to kill.

How about The Cars? Can we kill The Cars?   :icon_twisted:

chadh

I hope nobody tells my wife I suggested them, but how about Journey?  And Styx too, while we're at it.

Chad

Wayner

OK, I like the Cars, just 'cause that is fun music. (maybe)

This thread is just too funny.

This recommendation I will likely need my flame suit for  Flame, but I cannont stand U2 and/or Bono

I have to agree with that one too. I never liked U2.

Any rap or hip-hop

No argument there.

I have some issue with a couple of these though.

Foreigner

No Foreigner? Man, back in the day they had some great tunes to cruise to. Hot Blooded, Cold as Ice, Head Games, Feels Like the First Time, Dirty White Boy, Long Long Way from Home...

Ozzy Osbourne

Oh come on, Ozzy is an all time favorite and one of the best vocalist out there.

I could agree with that but he did represent Paul Potts. If you don't know who Paul Potts is then you have to watch this:

My pic though would have to be the guy that sings the free credit report dot com commercials.    What I really need for him is a little Icon of a guy puking. Those commercials are an instant channel change.

Oh no. You have to love the Cars just for having their music used in Fast Times at Ridgemont High as the choreography music for Pheobe Cates pool scene.

Styx had some good ones too.

OK Danny I'll give you Paul Potts - but not his teeth.
I'm OK I had mine fixed so I fit in

And I'm only jealous because Cowell has a Veyron (doesn't make his talent skills any better though).

How about just Steve Perry?

Listen to Journey's "Nickel and Dime" and you'll see my point.  :thumb:

Have fun,
Jerry

Garth Brooks - and all the rest of his ilk that I could care less to remember.

Cher and Celine Dion.  Of course, they have already left the scene.  Fergie cause she just pisses me off.  Here is the former lead singer of a decent band known as The Blackeyed Peas who now graces the cover of Good Housekeeping?  I suppose she has a fragrance, too.  Should be a lesson to boy bands in the future.  Get a woman and your success will be brief cause some agent is going to wisk her away.  Like, whatever happened to No Doubt?  Probably living off royalties.

No..you can't kill The Cars either.  "Drive" was a great make-out song back in the days.

On the other hand...immediate termination for the chic who sings the song with the following lyric
"I kissed a girl and I liked it...."
Or something like that....

I don't mind two girls kissing but that damn song is just toooo annoying :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted:

TONEPUB

Metallica.

Death Magnetic is dreadful....

Gwen Stefani from No Doubt went on to have a HUGE solo career.
Im pretty sure shes got a fragrance, a clothing line and is doing
a bunch of ads for HP digital cameras and printers....

I know, Pub, I was refering to the boys in the band.  And how about Brett Michaels?  Let's send him to the artic!  I saw 15 minutes of his reality show and he was singing.  God awful!  Piss bad.  And these space cadet girls just thought he was the coolest guy.  Yuk.

TONEPUB

Wow, agreed on the Bret Michaels thing.  Ugh.
Same with that reality show that had Ted Nugent and Sebastian Bach in it...
