The Place To Be In October.... http://www.audiofest.net/

Are you getting any promoter's fee by tooting the show, Chris? :thumb:  :nono: :duel:
No Shek....no $$$$....but I'll tell you why its a great show...even better than the NY shows.

First....more variety....smaller companies...cutting edge equipment. Their on the ball...ear to the ground....they don't follow...they lead....they need to be heard.

Second....their friendlier people....they will play your music....they want to hear from you....and will help you more.

Third....the chance to meet all those who post here on Audio Circle....its a great group here....and their from everywhere. This show is less costly than going to NYC....and for the last two years I've gone, I've had a great time...not much sleep ....but a really great time.

I'm looking forward to it again this year....you should try to make it....

P.S. I don't think Chris is getting paid, but I was thinking he'd get an official ACI 30 year shirt if we actually get them produced ...

Your right Mike.....I'm looking forward to visiting your room again this year....make mine a large .....thanks !!! :thumb:

The main reason the RMAF (and hopefully the VSAC show next year) is such a good show is that it is set up as a consumer show...

CES is really not set up as a consumer show and until recently, you could only get in if you were a member of the industry.  That show is where the mfrs go to mingle with their dealers and do business.  They really don't want a million audiophiles sitting on the couch playing their demo cd's...

That's what RMAF is for!

I hope in the future we see more shows like RMAF, because with the dealer network ever dwindling, it gets harder and harder for people to actually see and touch the gear, and especially the option to see so much of it in one place is great too!

Looking forward to meeting some AC members there!

Maybe this will be a kick in the pants for the procrastinators to book some rooms

It looks to be a great fest this year. I hope to see a lot of you there.

I just got some "terrible" news -- there is a rumor that a rather large beer festival is happening the same weekend as RMAF, and in Denver.

Trying to get details now.  Will report back when I have more info.

Yup, that's the one.  Maybe Sean will want to bring a supply of Skiing Ninja pint glasses :D.

I wanted to make sure it wasn't the other big beer event -- the international homebrew fest, which is truly amazing with something like 5500 beers at the last one.  That's a lot of beer to drink in one weekend.

The Beer Fest in Denver doesn’t really get going until 6:00pm, you should have plenty of time to go.

I hear the Hyatt is a better Hotel (thats where I will be staying), I stayed at the Marriott last year and it was nice, but then again, how often are we really in our hotel rooms? This show rules!

I wish I had the funds to go.  I've been wanting to attend RMAF since I first read about it a few years back.  Looks like a great time!  Naturally, I expect to see tons of pictures !

OK, being that this will be my first RMAF, is there going to be an AC get-together or meeting place (I know, I know, the beerfest!! :thumb:) during one of the days?  It would be nice just to meet some of the folks I've forum'd with for many years.  I know we'll stumble upon one another in various places, but leave that stuff to US Senators.

As per the last few years of RMAF....on Friday, about 5PM...we have met in the bar/lounge area of the hotel of a get-together, meet and greet. I'm sure you'll spot some wearing AC t-shirts there...or...just look for me...I can point you in the right direction. :thumb:

Don't worry Ted, we will be gentle to all of you RMAF virgins.

We also promise not to have any meetings in some of the places our US Senators seem to favor these days.   :o

My point exactly.  :D  Look forward to it...it will, however, ruin the intrigue...it's like meeting that radio voice you grew up with....wow he looks like that?!!!   He's just a normal person?  Bummer.

Good news! :thumb:

Two years ago I volunteered to present a list of AudioCircle attendees to RMAF.
The purpose was to have them include our monikers on our badges so we could easily identify each other.

The list was submitted prior to the date we agreed on but they dropped the ball and it didn't happen.
Last year some of us just wrote our monikers on our badges.

I just registered and filled out the badge info as follows:

Name Badge 1: Standard 3 Day Pass
Name: Jeff
Company  Captain Humble
City:  Carrollton
State:  TX

If we all do this it will be easy to identify one another.
If you have already completed the badge info, there is a link in the confirmation email they sent that will allow you to modify your badge.

See y'all in Denver!
