Also, don't go without stoppoing at Twist and Shout, a record store right next to Tattered Cover.

Excellent idea, but just beware, the new Tattered Cover in it's new location is but a mere shadow of it's former self.  I would suggest the one in lower downtown (LoDo) as the better choice now since the original is gone.

Paul, who owns Twist and Shout and I used (and somewhat still do) work for the same community radio station in Boulder, and he knows his stuff, and is a great guy as well.

On the audio scene, there is certainly a good bit of DIY and accessible gear, but there is also the ultra high end gear too, should you want to tempt yourself.  The Audio Note U.K. room last year had a system that cost over $400k -- just to give you an example.

It is always a great show -- I've been to all of them and have not yet seen every room at any one show.

G'day guys,

Just a reminder that the Aussies are coming this year!! The ELLIS/AKSA room should be a "must visit". I'm helping out Hugh and I'm really looking forward to meeting all the other ACers. After the show Hugh and I are off to do some sightseeing in the Rockies then it's off to London for me to visit my brother and Hugh is off to the Big Apple with Occam as his tour guide. Hugh's got a brand new passport but as they say "If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel." I think we can promise you the show's best Aussie music selection - that's if David doesn't get sick of hearing it. Come and say G'day to us.

Cheers,

AKSA

Folks,

As Martin said, we will be there - with enthusiasm and jetlag, and some very new products.....

Marty just bought his ticket, I'm still in process, it is a LONG way but as it happens I love flying.

I really look forward to exhibiting and meeting as many of the great characters on this forum we can find there,

Cheers,

Hugh

Yes,  I was sad to see both stores move.

Anyway, my ear operation appears to have been a success, so I'll probably be going.  What will I buy this year?

John, your wife should talk to mine.  The first RMAF, I had a hoot.  The 2nd RMAF, I convinced myself I couldn't afford it and moped around for weeks.  Last year, my wife rented me a car and shoved me out the door with a pat-on-the-ass.
She sez I'm much more 'agreeable' when I return.  And so is she as long as I don't have a trailer full of gear to bring home...
Tell her it is 'spiritually uplifting' to find out there are folks MORE nuts than you about this stuff.  :D

Regards,
DeadFish

I finally have a room booked at the Marriott and registered for 'fest.  Now I just need to find a decent airfare and I'll be set to go.  Tom

I will be coming from Copenhagen to enjoy my second RMAF.  I know the area well, having lived there twice in my life.  Central Denver gets nicer and nicer each year.  Why would anyone want to live in the burbs?

Last year I ended up buying a lot of stuff based on my contacts there, after I had promised myself i wouldn't spend a cent on gear.  This year, I have healthier attitude:  you can't take it with you, although I have told my wife to bury me with my K-701s and my SP headphone amp playing "Tear Stained Eyes" for 10 years!

Brenda and I both want to attend but I need someone to watch the kids for 4 days.  Who's up for it?
