Guys,

It's not happening at my place... for reasons I'll explain when I see you.

Carl is going to host a casual get together (or at least that was the plan when I spoke with him last night).  He's got some new toys that he wants to show off.... We'll do my place soon enough...

Carl,

Still on for your place?  Time?

Well, it's up to the folks here... I'm a bit deflated that the SP Tech spectacular couldn't work out.  The pair I have require a fix and I am sending them back to Bob for that work.  For the few that have heard them, they do not sound like they should.  The midrange is impaired and will be fixed.  If you'd like to hear them again, Bob will have the demo pair to send as soon as he's made the fix.  Let him know and he'll ship them.  I've run out of free time to handle the demo at the moment.

I'm still game to meet tomorrow, it'd be great to see everyone.   However, it'll mainly be social or to hear my current setup which has changed again... I came across a new pair of speakers I'm still dialing-in... (Piega P5 Limited's) I've also got some different amplification (Butler 2250).  It's not anything other than 'new toys' for me but if anyone is interested in hearing the new setup, I'll be happy to host.

So, let me know and I'll be glad to have everyone... but if you were excited to experience the new SP Tech's, sorry...

OK, looks like we should postpone this meeting... If anyone is interested in another meeting, feel free to start a new thread...

Thanks,
Carl

Shane, hope this is nothing serious.

Carl, too bad about the SP's ... was really looking forward to hearing those.  Butler/Piega, huh?  If there was a mac thrown in there, I'd say you caught something over at B's.

So this is totally off now?

Yes, it's totally off for today.  We can certainly do it again when the speakers are fixed.  I was just saying I'm not in a good position to deal with it at the moment.  I was hoping someone else could get a demo and host the next one.

I am in the midst of (yet another) round of changes.  New speakers, new amp (or amps), and preamp upgrades.  Also, I finally got the door to my room ordered and scheduled for installation.  Once all of that is done, I will host another meeting and that will likely be the end of my upgrades for a long time... at least a few years.  (seriously)

Tim, yes I've always liked Brandon's Piega's but they were out of my (price) league.  But I got lucky and a good deal came along.  I probably won't do the Mc's.  I hope to hear a pair of D200 amps before too long.

Well, that's it for now.. more to come when it happens... probably in a couple of weeks.

Whoa....it's a good thing I checked in...I was about to hit the road  :o !

I was looking forward to seeing you guys again...but I confess that I am relieved to not be doing 3 hrs of driving, today.

Shane...I hope things are managable, for you.

Carl...it will be interesting to see/hear your new toys. I CAN relate to the no new toys...I'm in that mode for the foreseeable future  :( ! Well...other than resuming construction of 2 media computers...as funds allow   !

Carl, I had a feeling that digital amp would not make the cut. I also think you will like the Butler more than the D200s. I do hope Shane is OK and its an equipment related problem rather than personal. He's had more than his share.
I was looking forward to seeing you guys, but s--t happens. Guess I'll cook a pig.

Speaking of "Mc's", I got to hear the new MA6300 integrated today.  I expected it to be fantastic for the price, (supposed to be their 'entry level' gear) but it actually was beyond my expectations!  I'd say it's likely the best integrated I've heard.

I'm also looking forward to getting together sometime.

Cool!  Looks like it has a phono input also... which would be great for my setup.  Let me know if you see a good deal on one... ;)

I'll plan a meeting in a month or so unless someone else would rather.

Yeah, but there's something about McIntosh and solid state instead of tubes that just doesn't feel right, ya know?  Still kicking myself for giving away my tube tuner.

I'd be tempted, but unless I change out speakers, don't think 100W will cut it for me.  So, Carl .. when you trade out the 2250 for that, let me know

That's a good price, considering how hot the product is now.  But "scuff mark"?   :nono:

I find Audiogon fascinating at times.

A guy wants to sell a hot piece, so he takes some photos.  He finds a "scuff mark", and as opposed to wiping the face, he'd rather state in his ad that it's just fingerprints.   :slap:
