Attracted more by expression in its essentiality than by sheer virtuosity, Alessandra Celletti?s chosen musical and creative field of action, both as interpreter and as composer, can be termed ?personal?. Her area of interest lies especially in the colour of sound and in the dynamic balance between notes. As a pianist, she studied at the Santa Cecilia Music Conservatory and, after graduating, continued her studies with Vera Gobbi Belcredi, specializing in the French piano literature of the late-Nineteen and early-Twentieth Centuries...As a performer, Alessandra Celletti?s repertoire ranges from classical music to contemporary, with the works of the XX Century canon and Minimalism holding a special place in her heart.
This album transcends any musical antecedents for which Guapo have been acknowledged in the past. Instead, the music here explores the outermost regions of psychedelic composition. Flickers of Popol Vuh, This Heat, Magma, Third Ear Band, Moondog, and early-'70s Miles Davis are present, as the dense orchestration and finespun virtuosity create a richness previously hinted at but until now never fully realized. On Elixirs, Guapo have opened a secret vault of treasures where jewels of sulphurous green and ashen blue blossom dwell, and springs of fire feverishly burst through a vista of golden chrysoberyls.
For just over 10 years, London's Guapo has been working in the world of avant and progressive rock...Right off the bat, Elixirs clearly favors a cerebral approach to music over some of the aggressive sounds on Five Suns and Black Oni. The building strings, slow pace, and light percussion of Elixirs' first track, "Jeweled Turtle," make it an ominous introduction. The viola and violin performance lent by Sara Hubrich brings this opener an atmosphere that could not have been achieved otherwise...
Live recordings of slipknot are disappointing compared to the album releases. Corey's vocals seem to slack off, and it isn't mixed very well.All hope is gone- Slipknot
