I was hoping for more but $1250 sent to Gary for the sale of PurePower2000.  Merry Christmas!

Now Gary needs some one to step up and buy the Northstar 192 DAC, Transport and the dedicated Pace Car from Empirical Audio.  Steve Nugent also modified the DAC for better performance.  Pace Car allows computer USB input and handles up to 24/96.  Pace Car is a reclocker which really just about eliminates jitter.  It's a gorgeous CD playback system that sounds as good as EMM DAC2X as far as CD playback is concerned.  Asking $2000.

Any further details on this setup? Pictures? Separate thread?

Hello to all, I received a brief text from Elise yesterday and it was great news  :thumb:  It seems everything is back under control with Gary and he should be headed home today.  Not sure what happened with the pneumonia but I was told there is no more signs of it.  YAHOOOOOoooOOooOoooooooooooooooooo.

Great news. Homeward bound. He is one tough son of a gun. Just put a 6H30DR trail he'll get home just fine. Speedy recovery and Merry Christmas to Gary and Elise.

Hey guys,

Gary is still having some complications. He is having bad stomach pains late at night. He may have to head back to the hospital.

He is also still unable to work and has had no way of generating income. He is several months behind on the rent and facing eviction soon.  So I have a deal for you guys.

I gave Gary my prototype V-1's on perpetual loan. And then John Parkhurst built some really nice cabinets for them. Gary has not been able to swap the parts from the prototype cabinets to the new nice looking ones that John made him. He loves the speakers and really doesn't want to part with them, but he really needs to pay the rent more than he needs speakers.

So if any of you guys are interested in these I will assemble them for whoever wants them. Fully assembled they are worth about $4,500 or more. How about $3,500 for them? Any takers? That will cover two months back rent and this coming months rent.

Here are some pics that John posted on them:

Gary also has a high res DAC that he put together that is really nice. If you are interested let me know. He'll take $1,500 for it. It is worth every bit of it.

The speakers come with amp boxes made to match. The paint is automobile paint sprayed on wet.  Paint alone was a couple hundred dollars.  One of my better creations and finishes. Amp boxes are red to match.

Jon

The xo also has a gray cover to hide it behind and below driver.

These things are super nice. They are great speakers at a really good price, and it would be really helping Gary out a LOT.

I have a pair of flat stacked 3.3uf/600VDC Jupiter HT capacitors in a project box (removable, obviously) that I used for a while atop an Eastern Electric DAC. They probably have 3-400 hours on them, at most.

They list for $94 each at Parts Connexion and $105 each at Sonic Craft (where I bought them).

$80 for the pair, including shipping/Paypal to the lower 48. SOLD.

I also have a 2 meter Pangea AC9 I don't need anymore. $50 including shipping/paypal to the lower 48. SOLD.

All proceeds will go to Gary. (Prefer therefore, Paypal through the gift option: I will pick up shipping and donate the full amount to Gary).
