Hi Paul,I read the thread you posted and saw your pics.Your work is amazing. Can you recommend a source for the Plastic Clay Steve
I am fairly experienced in vinyl, have heard more than a few phono sections, you will not do better than the Vista Audio for that budget. For $300 you can definitely get one used, maybe even new. I owned mine for several years, and I'm picky about SQ.Research it here:http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?board=123http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue57/vista_phono.htmI also hear the Soundsmith is quite good. I have two buddies that have owned both: one preferred the Vista, the other preferred SS. FWIW.
I just got it running in a temporary system. This is so cool. I got goose bumps. I haven't heard this stuff in 20 years.
Holy shit, I still have my original mint copy from 1977 of Billy Cobham's Magic album on vinyl as well as many others.
So what is the temp system?? Did you get your clay, preamp yet??
Holy Crap. This album is $323.33 on amazon. Wow.
I have a copy too. It's no where near as good as Spectrum (obviously).BC became too enthralled with funk for my taste.Maybe the thing that makes this worth so much $$$ is who the bass player is?
Well I'll be. Randy Jackson. My copy has a white label on it from columbia records that say's "Demonstration Not for sale" Hmmm, Interesting.
