I agree to a point. The player knew he was down and basically committed a dishonest play to run for the touchdown...something most players would try...

The Refs didn't blow the whistle, so he kept playing. Everyone else should have, too.

You may have something there with them all being tired, though. Did all of these guys, ref's included, eat Thanksgiving dinner before the game? I know that makes me pretty sluggish.

The only play I missed today, traveling between homes I guess.

The J-E-T-S Jets are either getting embarrassed by the Pats or embarrassing themselves, hard to say.  Can't understand why Tebow is not in the game.  Isn't this the role of the backup?

I'm sure we'll shortly hear an explanation from satfrat on the cowgirls and how they were deskirted by an east coastal indian tribe.  They did make a game of it towards the end with a ridiculous int throw from RG3 late in the game.  As bad as the rest of his performance was great.

Given it up for Detroit.  Damn fine effort, gents.  Well, NY +1, Dallas -1.

It's unlikely the League will change anything. The challenge rule has been on the books for quite a long time.

Schwartz blew it, plain and simple.

they actually said that rule is up for review after this season and will likely be changed.

There are lots of times players can't hear the whistle, it doesn't mean it didn't happen. I understand your point, though.

And obviously, after exhausting games last weekend...it takes it's toll. Once Johnson banged up his knee pretty good a few weeks ago it was clear the Lions season was going to be over. They sort of deserved these last two wins, but that happens...I'm sick of all the stupid officiating errors coming against Detroit, though.

The good news for me came from Tom Brady- he's my starting QB on my fantasy team! :thumb:

Schwartz may be the dumbest coach of all time and he and his loser team deserved to lose that game. Not only did he blow it on the challenge call, he decided to kick a field goal on third down in OT???  What an idiot.  A couple yards closer would have made a huge difference.  His bad coaching decisions are a disgrace to any real football fan and they cost the Lions a victory.  I felt sorry for Stafford in the post game press conference because he could not speak his mind about his idiot coach.

On second thought, Schwartz appears to me the perfect coach for the Lions.  If losing is you style, Schwartz is your man!

Schwartz probably didn't look at it like a scoring play in his head because it was so silly (only one guy ran after him and that's after realizing the refs had no f*cking clue what was going on). The refs blew it, though...not so much Schwartz. The guy was clearly down and it wasn't called on the spot.

Anyone want to vote to have the fill-in refs back?

Nice tackle.  I bet that made the New York papers.  I guess the Jets never did have any plans for Tebow.  Perhaps management thought if they could give Sanchez a scare he would rise to the occasion.  Well, how'd that work out for them.  What's next for both their QB's, I wonder.

How does a whole team keep from losing belief and enthusiasm when you got a QB like that and one other fellow I can think of?

The Bears are a different team with Jay Cutler at QB.  An easy win today against the Vikes.  His arm almost makes up for the Bears deficiencies at O-line.

Hoping the Giants can remember how to play football today and beat the Pack.  Not counting on it because the Gmen are not playing well but I guess I'm an optimist at heart. Never thought I'd say this but, go Gisnts!

I also predict the red hot Saints are going to beat the Niners this afternoon. The Saints are playing some good ball, finally.

Lastly, congrats to the NFL for the suspension of Detroit's resident cheap shot punk, Suh.  This guy needs to be taught a lesson. Kicking guys in the nuts is not part of football.  Detroit fans will complain and make excuses but the immaturity if this guy has cost his team dearly and it appears he will be suspended again, and fined.  Good riddance!

Cheers!

Jack

I'd like for the Saints and the Gmen to win, also, but that may be just wishful thinking.  SF is a very good team and I believe the Packers are, too, but I hope they stumble.  Try as I might, I just can't see NO beating the Niner's IF Alex Smith is behind center.  Make me a believer, Mr. Brees.  A few pundits are saying NO has found their game and will be unstoppable now.  Hope so, till they face Houston, that is.

Well, Smith is not needed.  That back-up QB is sumthin.  Later, didn't know the back-up is the new starter but think I can see why.

Anybody else think the Saints player kicking a down SF player in the head deserves a $50,000 fine?

Depends on whether or not the downed player wrenched the offender's balls on the previous play.  Sorry, Lizbeth, couldn't resist that one.

I think Robin is just keeping his fingers crossed.  If their season keeps going as it is, it might just be the best thing for them.  Jumpin Jerry may HAVE to replace Romo and sure oughta replace himself as GM while he's at it.  I mean the handwriting has BEEN on the wall for some time.  Hey, Jerry, wanna wake up and smell the coffee?  I wonder how season ticket sales are going, not that he's needs to care.  I just can't stand that motherjumper, kindly pardon me.

JJ seems to have a man-crush on Romo. I thing Garrett will go long before Romo is shown the door.

How about Norv Turner? How does this guy still have a job??
