Not this year, ole faithful.  BTW, NY has the tougher schedule, I checked.  I think your team will be going to the playoffs, Robin.  Best wishes.

Then you're not a Cowboy fan,,,,,,, thanks for that!  :thumb:

In their present form, Robin, that would be correct.  They are not the same team that got them all the love they used to enjoy.  Mine, included.  Jerry Jones killed that.  He's a self important hard head who won't own up to his mistakes.  Some people love the myth of America's team pre Uncle Jerry.  That's just not enough to sustain me.  Besides, I no longer live in the Dallas area.  How come New England isn't your favorite team?  That's usually how it works.

 Speaking of Giants, they barely scratched their way to the playoff's in 2011, just making the playoffs thanks to a last game win against Dallas and they ended up beating Peyton Manning for the SuperBowl. Anything can happen in the NFL, a team needs only gel at the right time.  8)

Cheers,
Robin

That would prove anything can happen in football.  The Giants defeated the Patriots by the score of 21–17 in last year's Superbowl XLVI.  Since Peyton didn't play anywhere last year, perhaps Eli beat him playing Xbox with Archie looking on.  No offence Robin, we've always gotten along, so forgive me for pointing out once again how Cowgirl fans like to revise history.

However you can be mollified by the wumping the Niners put on Chitown tonight.  Ouch, that looks like it hurt.  Who is number 72 for Chicago and why is anyone paying him to play football?  Perhaps he might be better employed as a matador, Ole!  Toro, toro Mr Smith, Ole!  He only needed a red cape to complete the picture.  Made Jason Campbell look like a rodeo clown in a barrel waiting for the bull to hit him.

Which brings something else to mind.  Exactly what line calls would Romo made to account for the Niner's rush should they meet them in the playoffs?  Keep Witten in on every pass play?  Would the Cowgirls O-line have any chance to keep Romo upright and not throwing INT's?  I'd be interested to see the gameplan.

What can I tell ya,,, my memory sucks and ya'know all them Manning boys look alike. But while I had the year & the final game team the Giants played in the3 SuperBowl wrong, the basic facts about the Giant season that year was right and was the meat behind what I had to say about what the Giants accomplished with the season they had was spot-on so put my Cowgirl dung in your pipe and smoke it!  :smoke:

IF my Cowboys played San Fran in the playoffs (or any team for that matter), I'd be happier than whaleshit at SeaWorld regardless of the outcome simply because they actually made the playoffs.  :rotflmao:

San Fran over Chicago was an easy-peasey call but I had thought the Bears had a defense that might make for a closer game. My bad. :eyebrows:

Cheers,
Robin

Ouch!  That was a royal ass-whooping the Niners put on the Bears last night.  No excuses , the better team won.   They outplayed the Bears on both sides of the ball.  Campbell played very poorly but the offensive line was disgraceful.  The Bears are good enough to beat bad teams but not teams like the Niners.

The Niners would have beat the Bears, even if they had a healthy Cutler.  Lovie was also out coached, again.  If only the Bears could play Detroit, Tennessee and Dallas every week.

Can't get too spun up over a single game - good or bad.

It was only a few weeks ago that the Giants went into SF and completely dominated them.  The final score of 26-3 didn't really tell the full story.  Since that point, the Giants have looked so-so.

The way the league works now, you need to make it to the play-offs and be peaking at the right time.  It also helps to get the right match-ups.

The days of truly dominate teams is a thing of the past.

Parity for all!!!

The Bears just aren't that good even with Cutler, sorry.  I'll take Green Bay to win the division.  The 49'ers are in spite of their loss to NY.

It's hard to argue after last night's game but good teams have looked bad this year.  The Packers barely got by Detroit last week and Detroit sucks.  This is a strange year.  Houston did not look impressive last week.

The Niners couldn't beat a bad St Louis team last week.  Nothing surprises me this year.  Saying the Bears are a bad team is simplistic and not completely accurate.  They are much better with Cutler at QB and there is still some time left to improve.   They are still in first place.

Jackman, who is gonna win their division in your opinion right now?  I'll say first that SF, Baltimore, NE, Atlanta, Green Bay or Chicago, Houston, and Dallas are good enough.  Dallas cause NY has the tougher schedule.  And I'd love to see a wild card Seattle in there vs. Dallas at some point.  Those guys got some game.  Guess they'd have to beat SF for that to happen.  Dunno how bad Alex Smith is hurt.  I'll be shocked if Dallas has one good game.

I was just responding to your "Bears are bad even with Cutler" comment.  They were bad last night and the week prior, but every team has looked bad this year, at times.  The Bears have their work cut out for them over the next couple weeks and we will see how good or bad they really are.  I believe they play the Vikings twice over the next three weeks and play Packers at home.  They also have a couple "cookies" they should easily win against the Cardinals and the Lions.  On paper, they still have a good shot at winning their division.

You know how it is in the NFL these days, even teams that look unstoppable (remember the nearly undefeated Packers and the Pats when they went into the Superbowl undefeated?) teams can lose to Hot teams in the playoffs.  The Giants team I watched lose to the Redskins (with Sexy Rexy Grossman at the helm!) last year looked hopeless and went on to win the SB as a Wildcard team.  If the G-Men can lose to Sexy Rexy and win a SB as a Wildcard team, anything is possible.

Lastly, I disagree regarding Dallas.  This team is just bad.  They could easily lose their next three games if they weren't playing Philly which is in disarray.  Washington has a shot at passing Dallas but they have a very tough schedule and would have to beat the Ravens and Giants, two tough teams, to get there.  The Skins and RG3 are a better team than Dallas at this stage, but they have more difficult remaining games and I'm not sure they can pull it off.  I still think the Giants are going to win the division.

Sorry, I never answered your question about division winners.  Seeing as there are only a couple divisions in question, I have to go with SF, Green Bay, Atlanta, New England, Denver, Baltamore, Houston, and the Giants.  The G-Men are a questionable pick because they aren't playing well but neither is Dallas.  NE, Denver, Balt, Houston,  an SF are no brainers and the Pack is outplaying the Bears at the moment so I have to pick them.

The only picks I woud questions are the Giants and Packers.  The other divisions are pretty sewn up for division winners.

The Saints have it tough from here on out; 49'ers, Falcons, Giants, Bucs and then Dallas in week 16. The Dallas game has the potential to determine the Wild Card, but the Saints D needs to actually play defense professionally if they're going to get there.

Go Saints!

The Saints are playing very well.  I don't think any team wants to face them at the moment.  They have a legitimate shot at beating all of those teams.

Sorry, edited because spellcheck used a word that was unintended.

I think Jackman is spot on about how the teams vary from week to week.  You can't put any faith in any team's ability to look like the same group of players from the last game or series of games.  The only constant is that the better teams pull it out and win no matter how they look during the game, al la Texans-Jaguars.  And the better teams record against other top 10 teams.  Notice Chicago hasn't beaten any top 10 teams this year (now 0-3), which made them suspect last night.  Now I had no idea how the QB's would play, I picked San Fran before I knew Smith was out, so just luck I got the team with the hot replacement.  But I would have picked San Fran anyway because they're 3-1 against top ten teams.  Bad news for Jackman and satfrat, Green Bay is 2-2 against top ten teams and Dallas is 1-5.

PS:
What can I tell ya,,, my memory sucks...

No worries, I had to look it up.  I knew you were wrong, but for the life of me I couldn't remember who Eli beat.

And I knew your point was not that, but was the G-men backing in to the playoffs, I just can't resist taunting Cowgirl fans.

Amend above:  I wouldn't be "shocked" if Dallas had a good showing, that's too strong.  I'd be surprised is all.  They have some fine players, jes don't have faith in the team whole.  I think their intangibles work against them, not for them.  And I left out Denver :duh:.

Houston squeaked by vs Detroit today.  This Houston fan wouldn't have minded if the Texans had lost actually as it wouldn't have hurt them in the long run and those Detroit fans oughta be able to have some happiness, sometime.  Detroit played well enough on offense to have won it.  The Texans are 9-1 so we fans down here are excited.  Arian Foster is one smooth running back with radar it almost looks like.  I like his partner carrying the ball in the backfield a lot, too.  Somebody please beat San Francisco, thank you very much.  I'd have to crack up if it were Dallas  but wouldn't bet on it unless I were given four touchdowns.

The Lions got HOSED on that ghost TD.  That call was as bad as the one in Seattle.  They should have won.  The NFL has got to take a look at that.

It's unlikely the League will change anything. The challenge rule has been on the books for quite a long time.

Schwartz blew it, plain and simple.

I agree to a point. The player knew he was down and basically committed a dishonest play to run for the touchdown...something most players would try. However, the penalty should be for that, yet there isn't one (I'm looking at it objectively and not realistically of course). Schwartz probably didn't look at it like a scoring play in his head because it was so silly (only one guy ran after him and that's after realizing the refs had no f*cking clue what was going on). The refs blew it, though...not so much Schwartz. The guy was clearly down and it wasn't called on the spot.

I thought the refs were going to give the game away when the Texans on 3rd and 5 got a gimme defensive offsides (didn't appear he lined up over line of scrimmage). The guys looked exhausted in OT. Everyone. Hanson took the blame for the loss because the kick was within his range easily and he missed it. Was a bad snap, but...he's Jason f*cking Hanson. The guy is a machine. I'm going out and buying his jersey tomorrow.
