I'll bet a good hamburger and a cold beer that the Saints finish better than Detroit.  :thumb:

Dammit I hate being a die hard fan...  :duh:

Like I said, at least Detroit got to the World Series, which is better than the Sox.  Given Chicago's history, I would not be bragging too much.

OK Skip, Let's see where the teams are after 15 weeks.  We will talk then.

Dunno why you'd make that bet Jerry, they got nothing to play for this year.

Visit New Orleans some time. There's plenty to play for.  :thumb:

I mean championships, right?  The city is cool to me.  Best R&B and Jazz FM stations I know of.  I used to visit often on business.  Good place to have an expense account.  Best Bloody Mary I've had, too.  Especially good at 8am.

The championship went out the window when Payton was suspended.

I was just betting a burger and beer. We Saints fans have an excuse. Lions fans; well....

I do agree with Freo's point, though. We're half way through, and it's pretty clear that just about aything could happen. Especially in the AFC.

Have fun,

Jerry

Another great week for Pro Football in America.  Let's go with Monday night first, Philly at New Orleans, the points and one predictor have it 2.5 to 3 points for the Saints, but another predictor has it 10 points for the Eagles!  Jerry should be heartened to know I'm picking the Saints over the woeful Eagles, but there could be a big upset here.  The second crazy game is Tampa Bay at Oakland with the spread at -1 for Oakland, but one predictor favoring the Bucs by 9 points and another the Raiders by 6.  Chicago and Denver are minor favorites over Tennessee and Cincy, but the predictors have them going big over their respective opponents.  Lastly, the betters have Indy a 2.5 point dog to Miami, with one predictor giving it a 7 point spread, but another calling it a pick'em game.  Should be a lot of fun again in the NFL this weekend.

While it was nice to see Drew continue his TD streak, and the Saints actually win, I sure am disheartened by the D. Eight consecutive games wherein more than 400 yards have been allowed, a new NFL record. Man, the Saints' D sucks!!!  :duh:

Yeah, the Iggles should have won by that 10 point estimate, but kept shooting themselves in the foot.  It almost seemed like the players gave up after the early 99 yd pick six, then couldn't turn it back on when they had other chances to go ahead.  Same record for each team at the end, but the Saints look like they could fix a couple of holes and make the playoffs, and someone should stick a fork in the Birds, cause they are done.

So it's a good thing my other team, the Stillers, came back to beat the Giants despite the refs being bought off by the league to give the win to the Giants.  Big money press for the G-men to fight thru adversity and pull out a win, not so much for Pittsburgh.  Kidding here of course (mostly), I'm sure the worst officiated game this year was pure incompetence.  The real refs are doing a much better job with the mechanics of placing the ball, administering the penalties, etc. than the replacements, but their calls are not any better, and sometimes, as in the case with this game, much worse.

I just keep looking towards Dallas for solace; Refs be damned.

Two 7-1 teams this Sunday.  Houston at Chicago, both highly regarded and conference leaders.  Gonna keep an eye out for how Wade Phillips and the Houston D come to play.  Haven't seen the Bears play this season and I am looking forward their match with Green Bay who have been lookin good lately.   That will surely be televised nationwide.  Go Houston!  Hold em to 17 points.

The Chicago - Houston game is the Sunday Night game. It's to make up for the Monday Night game, which is Chiefs/Steelers.

The Saints have Atlanta this weekend. Holy crap, this is gonna' be ugly.  :duh:

Philly has Dallas. I predict a killer windstorm around the stadium.

Go Saints,

Jerry

I think Dallas can beat Philly.  Maybe even Kansas City.  Romo is a schlomo but I don't figure them to finish in last place in their conference, just next to last place.  Go Jerry, since you've been in charge, the Cowboys have remained America's numero uno team, right Jer?

Sadly, with Jerry as head huckster, the Cowboys remain the NFL's premier money maker.  The question is, how much longer can he sell this mediocre product to a fan base that has bound to start shrinking.  As long as the $$ keeps rolling in, he will remain the GM.  Sad.  The franchise that was the epitome of class for so long has become a vehicle for Jerry's ego.

Not so many tight games or upset predictions this week, but the ones that do fit the bill are good ones.  First up is Chi-town vs Houston.  Nearly a pick'em at -1.5 for da Bears, the predictors agree, but I'm betting Houston's defense will chew up Cutler and Schaub will weather the Chicago onslaught.  Detroit - Minnesota is another close one with the Lions giving 2.5 points from the betters, but the predictors favoring the Vik's by 2 points, I'm Pondering Minnesota here.  Atlanta at New Orleans is a marquee matchup with Atlanta being only a 1.5 point fav, predictors are saying Atlanta by 7 or 8 and I'm inclined to agree.  The same thing with Dallas at Philly and San Diego at Tampa Bay, the spreads are 2 and 3 points respectively with the predictors seeing it Dallas and Tampa by 6.  All the other games should follow convention, but they rarely do.  Have fun everybody and don't bet on Pro Football.

What's the weather like in Chi town?  Dallas ought to slay Philly.  Philly's coaches seems to be at a loss for keeping their QB standing.  Is their offensive coordinator on vacation or something?  Sorry for you Philly fans.  I'm pullin for you in this game cause I'm so bitter about the Cowboys.
