My Atlas arrived today...

Heavy duty vinyl weekend ahead!  Very excited to see how this compares to the Skala and Kleos.

Super Glue a nickle on the headshell to assure good stylus to groove contact. :rotflmao:

I'm not sorry at all, it's a fantastic cartridge.  Is it worth almost ten grand?  That depends.  In the context of a modest system, no it isn't in the context of a world class system, it is. Just depends on your budget, your system, your software and your priorities.

It's price alone makes it a Division Bell between the haves and the have nots. I personally could never buy such a product, even if I could afford it, just because it's in a period of time when there are 1 in 7 in the US living on food stamps, and the unemployment figures are really 20%.

Does the entire world need a $10,000 cartridge? Not for me to decide, but I certainly can rest very easily and listen to wonderful vinyl on my $129 AT440MLa or Grado Gold1 Longhorn.

You, on the other hand, are in a very lucrative position, able to do reviews, then buy the reviewed and now, used cartridge. I'm sure you will give it your most thumbs up nod, if i were the manufacturer, I would expect nothing less. Perhaps at the end of the year, it can end up in the most recommended product list.'

So does this mean that AVA expects this from TAS and Stereophile?  Interesting.

I'm a guy that owns a $14,000 shotgun so I shouldn't say anything. But, I expect my great great grandchild to enjoy this gun. Don't cartriges have a shelf life?

AVA stuff gets reviews because reviewers hear it at places like the RMAF and ask for a review sample.

I own this ammeter that is older then the one in the Smithsonian. No Big deal to me. So your shotgun is worth $14,000. Did someone offer that amount to you?
