My guess is since you don't login on the website, it must allow you to edit only if your IP is the same as when you created the pin?  For instance, I could edit mine yesterday, but today I can't.  And as for the phantom pins, I think if you create one without selecting the pin color, it shows up as blank.  Again, just speculation.

My phantom pin came from the first posting of the map.  I put a pin on there and it was visible until Bob made some refinements to his login or some such.  Then it was a new map.  But when I went to place my pin on what I thought was a new map I was still there.  Just pinless.  As were several others that had placed pins on the original map.  Eh, for all the work Bob is doing on this thing I'm not going to sweat a little detail like that.

I've got one of those non editable locations as well. I entered my location on a previous map and it showed up on the new one. Maybe because I use a Mac? Maybe because we Southern Illinoisans are considered as second class GASers?  :D

Also, I have about 41 GASSERS in my "GAS email Group". We've less than half that many pins.
If you're worried about putting a big stake in the map at your front door advertising you have expensive equipment at your house, do what I did and put the pin at the nearest major intersection.

Also, I'll be sending out an email tonight. Nothing important, just a ping mainly but if you didn't get it, then I don't have your correct email address.
Lemme know if you didn't receive, but would like to.
