 This must be a regional problem. In the last 10 years (or more) I have noticed nothing but courtesy and encouragement from people selling high end audio. I'm talking about real live people selling real products in real stores.

With the state of the economy and the limited high end audio customer base I just don't see salesmen turning away customers with their nose anymore.

Maybe I need to get out more ?

I just remembered that we had a thread that touched on audio retailers from a little over a year ago.

Like this? Looks cool and solid, doesn't it? What is your estimate? How much for a set?

I'm sure the cups are a little steep but the bearings are cheap and in abundance... looks very nice though.

The all time peeve is raining on ones parade. If someone has an opinion or states their belief about something there is always someone who has to embarrass or just disagree. Constructive input is always well received, and appreciated. The flubby dust remarks and such gotta go.
We all have different experiences and subjective tastes. So there is no best just different.

Heres one its pricing.Seems like many many products are priced at 1999.00 or 1995.00,lots and lots of stuff. Now i know development costs research, time etc go into these products .BUT theres no damn way half these products ,,although those prices could be considered low to many ,most people with any common sense wont drop 2 k on something with that price .Here's my gripe you cant freaking tell me that these couldnt be priced at 1500, or 1750, or even at a 1000,i will guarantee there would still be plenty of money to be happy and sell this stuff at more realistic prices. Why the hell so much, i think the 2 k money price point is way more marketing then a actualy based on what the product does. Im not saying this for every single product but i will say for a good majority i bet.

The cup is a steel egg cup, about $1. So this whole set is about $1.25. or $5 for a set for a CD player.
You can also buy it at some high end place, then you'll pay at least $75.

Audio manufacturers who up until recently dismissed much of our hobby because of their dependance on abx testing to sell their own gear. They used abx testing to promote their gear and now have to rearrange their bullshit since a lot of their up coming technology demands you can hear a difference in Hi rez -so they can sell their tech. In-fact they will probably use abx testing to prove you can hear a difference in hirez.

Hopefully the backpeddling and hypocrisy won't be to hard to handle.

Any system over $10k that is sitting in a room that could easily be confused with a turkish prison.  Do you really want to sit in that room regardless of the music?  Look, if you can afford $10k, $20k, $30k for your hifi, then you can afford a can of paint and a shade for that bare bulb in the middle of the ceiling.  How about throwing away the pizza boxes and old beer cans before you post your system pics?  Geez!

iPods and all iPod related products. At least until they finally put out something worth a damn.  :cuss:

The iPod has changed the way many people experience music. Some would say it's not a change for the better.

So are you trying facetime out nap?  How is it working?    :thumb:

Charles : I read your post and thought " Shine your light, Rollo. Right on ! " and a few posts later it looks like we've decided that we're not gonna settle for just dumping on each other's opinions or gear choices. We're gonna start offering up critiques of each other's decor and housekeeping, too.
Well, thanks for trying... :banghead:

Maybe the reason that this hobby isn't attracting the interest of young people is because they're afraid it will make them bitchy...

Think I'll log out and go listen to some music.

Cheap dump that looks like a Turkish prison... Close.. too close.
I live below my means in a cheap apt (i used to live in a place that was under 15% of my monthly income, but it got condemned. (not MY apt, which was pretty nice, but the whole building got shut-down for endless code violations ... I did my OWN repairs.).
I moved up-scale and now pay $500 a month heat included, including indoor parking across from a nice park in a quiet building. So i still have a pile of money left for music and stereo stuff. i easliy could spend three times as much for nothing more than a better zip code.

My choice is what I choose to do, and if I'm causing no harm it should not bother you.Your choice is who you choose to be, and if your causing no harm then your alright with me.

This is the second time you have posted that exact same text. That (plus the generic nature of the text) is suspiciously spammer-like behavior, so I will restrict your account. Post in Notices and Support if this is not correct. Thanks.

His/Her post is also a quote from a Ben Harper song titled "Burn One Down" ...which may explain a few things ; )

One of my pet peeves is 180 degrees.  How do power cord and XLR (or AES/EBU) interconnect manufacturers know how to build their cables so one end is always physically 180 degrees away from connecting?  :banghead:
