Is anyone else on the list to get the M2Tech Evo USB interface?

Looks pretty good...

With multiple digital outputs and clock input, it looks like it's geared toward pro audio. On the back panel is 2 SPDIFs, AES/EBU and I2S outputs. From reading the FAQ it seems that the performance should as good as the original. And potentially better if you use an external clock, especially if the DAC is slaved to the same clock.    This is the first commercially available I2S output from a transport type gadget that I have seen marketed to audiophiles.

Thanks for the heads up. When is your delivery expected?
Rich

Just to set the stage, the system to drive the M2Tech Evo will be:

ASUS EeePc Netbook running Windows 7 Starter edition.
Powered USB Hub cable with 5VDC regulated battery power supply
HiFace Evo USB to I2S Bus cable, battery power supply
Wolfson DAC with I2S Bus input, battery power supply

Foobar2000 V1.03 with Windows 7 WASAPI audio interface

Music is varied from 16bit/44.1KHz from EAC rips of CD's, to 24bit recordings from HDTT, HDTracks and Reference Recording HRx files.

This should be interesting. :)

Since you already have one, any listening impressions at this point?

Not  necessarily, personally we will absorb the increase and keep it at the initially proposed figure.

My system is so much different than others, it would be meaningless to get a detailed impression, however what I can tell you it has more air, more subtlety, better definition (powered from the Paul hynes ps) than the original HiFace which was extremely good deal. I think the price difference is justified, and it makes the EVO similarly good deal if not even better than the HiFace is.

Hi,
what is the connection between interface and DAC? Did you try other types?
how do you playback content? With Foobar/KS or else?

thanks,

thanks,

I am using a BNC-BNC Naim DC1 coax cable, tried a much more expensive Acrolink Mexcel RCA-RCA coax as well, Toslink too, wtth a real glass Japanese SAEC Toslink cable. The source is a MacBook and MacPro, with Amarra 2.0 and Pure Vinyl. Tried Foobar with WASAPI and Win 7 64 bit running on the MacBook. USB cables are Kimber and Belkin, but tried Furutech as well. USB connection is through a laboratory quality USB2 hub, the Vaunix.

That is what I have asked.

The unit says 7-11VDC, but the manual states maximum voltage is 15VDC.   A typical 12VDC AGM has a maximum voltage after charge around 13.1VDC max.

Sent tech support a msg on Friday.  Waiting on a response.
