Thanks Roy and Danny for the compliments. Already have a buyer for these babies. Hopefully he will post comments when he receives them. Anxious to listen to them myself.

As much as I like my pair of Ninja'd X-CS' these seem like a much better alternative.

Definitely something to consider.

Oh, and great work as usual, Ron! :thumb:

Thanks Neil and Corndog for the compliments. Finished building and sanding the cabinets today. Plan to veneer them tomorrow in natural cherry with multiple coats of hand rubbed polyurethane. Hope to have them completed and ready to test out by the middle of next week. I will post pictures at that time.

Finished the N3S's today ( except for the grills) that I started building last week. Very pleased with how they turned out both in appearance and sound quality. Initial impression of these speakers is that they sound wonderful! Sensitivity is high and dynamic range is excellent. My impression is that they have a very clean, detailed and transparent sound quality with outstanding sound stage imaging and depth. Vocals are very natural sounding. Bass is clean and articulate but not extended which is to be expected. If you plan to use these speakers as your mains, then you would definitely need a good subwoofer like the Direct  Servo to extend the low end. I have built a number of N2X's which sound very good, but in my opinion the N3S sounds even better.

Attached are a few pictures showing the final assembly.

What is the price of the kit vs the Neo2x kit? And what is the advantage of going to a MTM design?

Very very nice Ron, excellent workmanship.

I have built a number of N2X's which sound very good, but in my opinion the N3S sounds even better.
Danny, any comments or opinions on this?

Ron,

You are starting to take on an "assembly line" persona w/ GR Research speakers !  Great work as usual.  I think you got it down.   :green:

Yep, beautiful work Ron.

Danny, any comments or opinions on this?

If you balance the output levels then the N3S and N2X are very similar. What the N3S and N3 give you is higher sensitivity. This makes the dynamic range a little broader. I especially like the transmission line loaded N3. Then you have great sound, good bottom end, and can power it with lower powered tube amps or Virtue Audio amps with no problems.

I have a pair of Ron's N2X boxes in Cherry with some slight shipping damage on them if someone is interested in them. I'd make someone a really good deal on them if they order a kit with them.

Ron, would you be interested in posting a thread with pictures to demo step-by-step how you do the veneering?

Most of us can construct the boxes, but finishing and veneering is where I get bogged down.

Just a suggestion, someone else may have a better idea. I don't know if the GR circle is the best place for it or not.  I got the idea from Danny's crossover assembly thread.
