« on: 8 Jul 2010, 07:03 pm »
Hi all,

Was looking for some advise pertaining to speakers cables(Bi Wire). Here is the system.
4b SST2
BP 26P
B&W 803D Loudspeakers
Sony XA 5400 ES sa-cd player

Would love to hear some input as to what others are using currently.

Thanks,

Dave    :?

I use Belden 10 gauge which I purcashed from Blue Jeans Cable up in the Pacific Northwest.

The Bryston cables are awesome too. Those are 9 gauge, I believe.

I use to use Cardas GRC's,then switched to Bryston .
The Cardas seemed a little laid back, where the Bryston, basically said WTF,TIME TO PARTY
The Bryston seem alot more lively if that's what you like,LIVE compared to say studio.
Maybe when I hit 60,I'll go back to laid back :o.

I use Canare 4S11 from Blue Jeans Cable due to long cable runs that I have to live with.  No complaints at all about the cables or sound quality.  I dressed then up with Techflex and made them look all nice and expensive.

I second this recommendation!  you might first take a trip to your local Home Depot/Lowes and see what they have in 10 ga as you might be able to get it cheaper than BJC.

If you want something more snazzy I'd recommend either Analysis Plus Oval 9 or DH Labs Q-10 as both have excellent spade terminations and are not too overpriced given other offerings in the "boutique" cable market.

WireWorld Silver Eclipse 6 connecting 7B SST2's to the Infinity 9 Kappas.  Bryston has used WireWorld cables in their show setups frequently according to designer and president David Salz.  I'm getting great results with mine.

Well, he's gotta get the Belden or Canare. Anything less is a compromise, imo.

Hello,

You might want to try Frank at Signal Cable.......very good customer service and they come with a thirty day return and lifetime warranty.

Or just go to AudiogoN and wade through what is offered.

As always, all the best.

I've seen this description "boutique" cable used frequently on this and other forums.  What exactly does this mean?  Does it have a definition?

Reality cables!  The latest reports on Nagy's cables look very promising.  Outside of that, there isn't anything I'd be too interested in.  After all, a short list should be short.

Check out the Clear Day Double Shotguns... reasonably priced, either a 30 or 45 day trial, plus Paul is a great guy!

You can demo the JPS Superconductor 3 from the Cable Company. They blew away all of the cables I tried. My Avalons have never sounded so good!
