Just got them

I have my 4B SST2 placed on a lateral wall and I need long cable runs to the speakers (Paradigm Studio 100 V5) (yes, I know, but if you can convince my wife that the equipment rack would fit nicely just in front of the fireplace, I would reconsider the placement

)
Previous cables were 14 gauge "philips" el-cheapo speaker cable, 18' long. Now I just replaced them with the Bryston supplied Van Damme 9.5 gauge (is the gauge correct?), 20' long (just to make sure I have some slack for future rearrangements) and Bryston fitted tightening banana plugs.
Due to the long run and large difference in gauge I was expecting to hear differences in the lower bass where the speakers hit 2 ohms impedance. However the first impression is that it's the upper bass and midrange that came alive - in a very pleasant way.
A couple of days ago I was mentioning how a pair of Energy RC10 had a creamy smooth nice midrange when directly compared to the Paradigms. Now I got that sound with the Paras too.
More music listening needed

Nap.
