No way I'm gonna be the first guy to see this (this weekend, maybe) so gimme, please.  I know I spelled that incorrectly.

Saw it this afternoon and enjoyed it.  Brad Pitt is hilarious, and Col Lander is a great villain.  There are scenes that last too long with excessive dialogue IMHO, but it is Tarantino.  Anyone who's enjoyed his previous work should enjoy this too.

Well, I just returned home from it and I LOVED it  :thumb: This one well may be Tarantino's masterpiece. It may not have the immediate appeal of Pulp Fiction, but this movie is so much deeper. It is built on subtleties and suspense with excellent character development. So much of the film revolves around linguistics as well as the film glides between English, French, and German all with emphasis and purpose. Each actor is superb and truly played they part perfectly. They story is well thought out and developed and the soundtrack is used masterfully to further enhance and portray the film. I would love to go into more specifics about other parts I loved but would not want to give anything away. I highly recommend it  :D

I would also be remiss if I did not note how incredible a story Tarantino wrote and how amazing his directing and camera work was to truly develop the film. Few writers (if any) can write a movie where probably 65% of the film is subtitled switching between 3 languages and make it work like that. He certainly displayed the depth of his talent on this one.

Most gratifying to read that QT has returned to form.  I'm one of those guys that thought he had run out of creative gas for a long while and what a cryin shame it was to me.  Can't wait to see it.  Cheers.

If you are familiar with QT works and WWII, you will like this dark humor soaked in red movie.
Cinematography, colors, camera work, soundtrack - all great. Performances were great as well.
I can not give this movie maximum of 5 stars but easy ****1/4. Highly entertaining and recommended.
QT fans must see!!!

Just saw Basterds today.  Wow.  If you are a QT fan you may find this to be an almost perfect film.  2.5 hours + blew by.  It is not often that I walk out of the theater and immediately start thinking about when I can see the movie again.

I was lucky enough to see this movie  2 weeks before it came out. I do live sound for a living and QT showed up for an industry Premier in Toronto. He Yelled something about Killing F$cking Nazi and slammed my mic on the ground. I stayed and watched the movie of course.

At the end of the movie there was a Queston and Answer period with QT's buddy Eli Roth (Quentin Tarantino left to the next city)
Someone asked if Quentin Tarantino has a cameo in the film as per his other movies, Eli Roth said YES but he would not say where within the film.......ANYONE know?

Great movie, I am going to go see it again tomorrow night as I missed the first 15 mins due to work stuff on site.
Another interesting Fact: Elie Roth Directed the Film within Inglorious Bastards, "Nations Pride" I think it is called. Apparently his film "Nations Pride" will be including on the DVD as and extra.....kinda cool

DAMN THAT ENDING WAS AMAZING !!!!!! I though about it for days

I enjoyed this one as well.  There's only a handful of director's that can draw and hold my attention with their style.  It was a nice feeling to sit down from the start with a smile on my face as if I was in for a cinematic treat.

I saw this last week...easily my second favorite QT film, just behind Pulp Fiction. I agree with whoever said this was one very satisfying film, and how they can't wait to see it again. I was absolutely riveted and entertained from the very first minute the SS pulled up to the farm house. Speaking of which, how about the job that Christoph Waltz did as Col Landa? Holy CRAP, that was one of the most versatile, intimidating, effective, and all-around AMAZING performances I've seen in a long, long time. My friends and I were joking that every time the guy came on screen, we felt guilty of something!

I had very high hopes for this film and it exceeded them in every way possible.

Finally saw this.  This is a rave!   He's got his 3D mind working in this and the wit in his writing is huge.  The scene in the tavern is just too good. He loves movies and it shows . . he honors them. He must have watched a ton of old Brit films for the dialogue and repartee in that scene. His choice of female leads is bloody perfect in this. He is ingeniously clever and funnily absurd and very entertaining this time out.  Amidst, he even incorporates into his story the whitewashing who knows how many Nazi's to serve a need only with a certain badge of shame courtesy of QT.

I'm newly of the opinion that the Kill Bill's and especially that joke of a movie that followed were because the studio's were throwing money at him after Pulp and tho he didn't have anything finished, he took the money and this was his way of telling us. He even managed to get paid twice (!) for what was one movie (the KB's). He and the Coen Brothers are the most imaginative and clever writers working that I know of with the coolest directorial touches. The music Tarantino selected for Shoshana's dressing to kill scene was the theme from Cat People (David Bowie).  It rocked and I did, too.

Love this!

What did you think of the performance by Christoph Waltz (German interrogation officer)? I've been saying ever since I left the theater this summer that this was one of the best performances I've ever seen on screen, and if this guy didn't get an academy award nom then I wasn't going to watch that stupid show anymore, lol. Looks like he was nominated for a Golden Globe, so at least someone else feels as I (and many others!) do :)
