Cables...check. I have some 10 gauge Blue Jeans cables at home hooked up to my Rockets. I need one more pair to hook up the HT3's, but those won't take very long.
UPDATEJim contacted me today and said they were ready for final routing on my set of speakers. He wanted to know if I wanted black front baffles on ALL of the speakers and I said yes. That should match up nicely. He also wanted to know if I wanted the grain on the oak sealed or not and I decided that I would have it sealed, which is what he does with most of the speakers. My final set of GIK panels shipped today as well so everything is coming together nicely. Yeah! On a side note, I would like to thank everyone for participating in this thread. It is fun to read about what everyone is doing to get ready and even more fun to see people getting their speakers. I'll be there soon...
Blue Jeans Cable 10 guage, unfinished speaker wire is in the mail on the way to my house. That should give me something to work on this weekend. Surprisingly, the wife was mad I didn't ordered finished, terminated cables ("I'm not paying to fix your new speakers when you short something out!" My response, "Don't worry, honey, the amp will catch fire, first..."). -Kevin @ 66 days and happy to wait for his one-of-a-kind, beautiful, custom HT2-TLs
Hey Nuance,Can you describe to me how you are using your Parasound 2100 with your AVR? Are you using the 2100 for your bass management?

Sure.Yes, I am using the 2100 for bass management (only for music). My speakers are connected via analogs from the amplifier to the "High Pass Outs" on the 2100. If you don't connect via the high pass outs the crossover (static at 80Hz) won't work. The other set of outputs is if you want to run your speakers full range. I then run analogs from the "Bypass Inputs" (HT bypass) for both the subwoofer and speakers to my receiver's preouts. Finally, I run one analog for each subwoofer from the 2100's "Subwoofer Outputs" to my BFD, then to a y-cable which plugs into the "Subwoofer Output" on the receiver. This way the HT bypass is fully engaged, and I get the best of both worlds for music and movies. The only caveat is a slightly different in-room bass response between my preamp and the Onkyo receiver. What I do is EQ using the BFD and the Parasound 2100, then check to see what the response is like using the receiver. Generally the Onkyo has more boost in below 30Hz (only a few dB), so it's like having a slight house curve for movies (which is great), but a flat response for music. I still have a separate house curve for movies, but I hardly use it because of the naturally boosted low end the Onkyo produces. So in short, the 2100 manages the bass response for music, but passes through to the Onkyo to allow the receiver to apply its bass management for movies.I hope that all makes sense.
GIK tri-traps and fabric arrived today they look good; can't wait to get them home and put them in place. Hopefully the room will start to look like a listening room after this weekend.
You can tell vintagebob is still waiting, he is a post machine . Once he gets his speakers he will vanish .
Can someone give me the dimension of the height of the tweeter from the floor (w/plinth) for the HT2-TL? I'm hoping to install some acoustic panels tonight and want to center the panel around the tweeter height. Thanks in advance!
