A number of posts have been exorcised from this thread on the LessLoss powercords -

In the exorcised posts is my post -
OT-
I'm somewhat confused and incredulous as to Frank Van Alstine's continual highjacking of threads not in his own circle about powercords. His doubts are understandable, but one might assume that he has the wherewithall to conduct his own experiments. Heretofore, he has shown the empirical curiosity of a turnip.
I've yet to see his objecting to positive subjective comments on his new, improved products, (with vacuum tubes, no less) and would assume he has the capability to apply his same metrics to one of his components with alternative cords.
FWIW,
Paul
PS - I'm willing to install my own non grounded powercord on one Van Alstine component gratis. It would be ideal if a non modified example of that same component were available for comparisons. No doubt it would invalidate any remaining warranty (unless it was supplied by the manufacturer) and it would require my drilling a 7/8" hole at the cord entry hole for installation of an appropriate cable gland. I promise to get the cord polarity correct.
and (I believe) a AVA product owner (MarkC) followed up with -
I think that Frank should take you up on your offer. That way he could evaluate the difference, if any. If the is no difference or a negative difference is heard, he would only be out the cost of a piece of chassis.
So I am resurrecting my offer here and making it specific to Frank. Send me a current production product component and I'll install my own hardwired captive cord for you to evaluate, gratis. I'd prefer one of your DACs as they IMO are quite sensitive to cords, and comparisons between DACs are relatively easier than other components.
Whadayasay Frank?

Paul
Disclosure - I make and sell power cords and conditioners. I contribute to the operations of Audio Circle as an Industry Associate. I don't doubt Frank's sincerity in his assertions regarding powercords; I just believe they are flat out wrong resulting from his lack of empirical experience with powercords. I seek to broaden his experience.
