That party was excellent.  Thanks Scott and Laura for hosting it for us!  Im glad I got to experience all those different systems.  I would have to say my favorite was the setup in the green room with Ryan's speakers.  I also liked how the IB speakers in the basement sounded with the natural sounds of the piano and violin.  I will be sure to come to the next outing as well.

Hey Scott,

Ditto all of the great comments for me!! I got there later than anybody, I think, so I missed seeing some of the guys. The atmosphere of the party was ''electric'', pun intended. I certainly enjoyed all the systems that I heard, from the basement to the upstairs. If I had to pick what moved me the most, I'd have to say the uncanny displacement and the ''in the room'' imaging given by the Lowthers system(best I've heard it) as well as the Green room system with Ryan's speakers. That includes all contributions from Chris, Tim, and Bryan(thanks for the cd) that helped bring that small room alive. I didn't get to spend much time with Willie's equipment driving the Altecs, but it was sweet!! So little time, so much to listen to.

Please pass on my thanks to Laura as well. I'm always amazed at how graciously she puts up with us. Haha. The food was fantastic. What a great time. Everybody come on out to the organ recital on Sunday.

Mental note to self: Never, never, never again, park under Scott's Apricot tree with the sunroof open.  :duh:

Scott,
Thank you and Laura for the wonderful time! Great food and some very tender venison!
Ditto all the compliments, some really good tunes and fine systems in all the rooms!
I felt like a kid in a candy store.

Scott and Laura-

Thanks for your generous hospitality. The ribs were great!

I was wondering about this year's Xmas party? Have you set a date yet?

By the way, Albert and I are forming a spinoff of GAS-
it's a discussion group based on famous murder cases and/or assassinations.
Would you be interested in hosting it?

Thanks again!

Alan

Thanks guys,

Its always fun hosting these gatherings.

Ryan never got around to sending me the pics he took so I thought I'd post a pic or two of the Lowther OB's I built.

Alan, after the 8" of snow we had last year, people with cars in the ditches and general unpredictability of St Louis winters, we decided to move up our annual blowout to September.

The way you two were going at it, we may need to keep you guys separated at the next gathering

Scott,
Regretfully, I missed hearing your new speaks..... ...I managed a quick glimpse as I walked through the room and they do look fantastic, but I spent too much time with the Altecs, watching Doug (IIRC) calibrate your TV, and just chatting with folks.
Hopefully next time.

Hey Guys,

Finally got the pics from Ryan plus a few minutes to format and upload them. Here's a few pics from the BASH  :thumb:

Here's a quick shot of a few of the guys in the Blue Room. Lets see that's Chris, Steve, Mark, Tim, Glen, Bryan, Rick and Larry (I think).

A shot of Mark, Gene, Willie and Joe relaxin' back in the music Library

Here's a shot of Willie's 300b driving the Altecs in the Redrum.

...and the Redrum on acid

Here's Tim and Bob in the Redrum. That's Larry and Doug in the background.

And here's a shot of the little Green Room with Ryan's latest speaker design, Tim's McIntosh integrated, Tim's uber cool Marantz turntable, the primo Slee Reflex phonostage, the Bolder SB3 and the latest offering from Empirical Audio.
