about your ignorance of audio is true.I have also heard you say that expensive wires are a rip-off.For your information I use 20 ft.Transparent Reference speaker
wires -value $6000,and custom Kimber double silver between my pre -amp and amp.value $1400 .They are worth every dime.but you have to be able to hear the difference .This

There's no accounting for taste, you are free to choose whatever you want to listen to, but please don't make sweeping generalizations about something you know next to nothing about. As Tonto alluded to, to think that drugs played no part in jazz music is ridiculous. What business is it of yours what a musician does with their own body? All I care about is the music itself. If I was so concerned with how people live their daily life I'd watch back to back episodes of "Behind The Music" on VH1. Plenty of crash 'n burn stories there about drug abuse - but why are they on that show in the first place? Because they made great music loved by millions of people.

I think a sample discography from the albums in your collection is in order. Let's say five to seven titles will do. Chuckie can then go ahead and check them out in all due fairness. I bet Chuck's in for a serious reality check if he gets a couple CDs...

It is not my wish to "convert" anyone to listening to metal, I fully understand that it is not part of the usual audiophile repertoire and if anyone finds this style to be grating on their ears it matters to me not. To me it is just like anything else, there's good and bad and everything in between.

I just find it ridiculous when I see people like Chuck denouncing something out of hand. Tell me "I think metal sounds like shit. It's really annoying. It gives me a headache. It's too fast. It's too slow. I hate the vocals." That is all perfectly sensible. What isn't sensible is "it's made by screaming demons! It's not musical! The rhythm destroys your mind! I can prove objectively that jazz is the superior genre!" That type of thing is complete nonsense. And to come to this conclusion based on a passing blip on the radio? Give me a break! Radio ultimately ruins ALL music by its callous repetition anyway.

If you care to look there are a wealth of great songs, skilled musicianship and wonderful lyrics to be found in metal, as there are for ANY other genre. Jazz and classical does not have a monopoly on these things. The people that claim such things to me are just as silly as the most thuggish Black Metal purists who feel all other styles are bogus.

You guys want a sampler CD? Sure, I can do that. But it would take some time. I can't imagine any recordings that would be held to more scrutiny. Trying to find a metal tune that doesn't alienate the prototypical hifi enthusiast is harder than I thought. (thanks audiojerry!

) I would not be surprised if Chuck despised anything I put on there, but if he DID find something positive to say about any of it he would certainly gain some brownie points with me. Still, like I said before I don't care if anyone hates what I like, just don't dismiss it as music for morons or drug addicts because that is simply not true. Also, if you think what they are playing on the radio these days is real metal, well it's not. Never was. The radio only reveals music that the majority of people like, it has never shown the cool stuff that goes on behind the scenes. That goes for ANY style.

There was a period in which many jazz musicians used drugs in the 50s and 60s.A lot
of great black musicians were mistreated many were forced to go to other countries to work.so they used
drugs .Other musicians copied them.Miles Davis and Charlie Parker ,Billie Holliday are examples.Presently most of the new jazzers are clean.and very intelligent.
Jazz is a great American art form.musicallycreative,and
sophisticated.Rock is a commercial rip off of the early Rhythm and Blues which was good music.

Are you referring toTchaikovsky?What are you talking about?
