I bet you can but I would realllllllllllyyy like to hear them first,

The majority of Danny's USA customers don't hear his speakers before buying them, so your only disadvantage is shipping costs. Clearly, you've done your research, so what are you waiting for? Add a pair of subs, and it will be a substantial improvement over what you have now.

If you don’t like them you can sell them so it’s not a complete loss.

Well, since you’ll have a pair built, people can come listen to them and decide.

Another option would be to build a smaller speaker and make sure you like how Danny’s speakers sound and then move that smaller speaker to a different room when you make the OB speakers.  The NX—Bravo would be a good choice.

Let's put it this way.  I did show coverage for about 10 years back when Rocky Mountain Audio Fest was still going on.  In addition there's a thriving audio scene here in CO.  I've personally heard over 500 different pairs of speakers.  The NX-Oticas are top 5 of all the speakers I've heard.  They aren't just 'good for the money', they are elite, regardless of price.

You could always take a vacation to the US and visit some people with NX series speakers. There's plenty of people here who would open their home to a friendly guest.

As a side note, when I built my NX-Studios back in 2020, I had limited experience with true high quality speakers. They were a major extravagance for me then, but my only regret was not being them sooner. Your room looks primed and ready for a perfect OB setup. Pair it with a sealed sub or two for some kick drum kick, or a tower stack of Triple Threats for ultimate three dimensionality soundstage and you'll be one happy camper.

Lol, I just figured you were going for ultimate diy ceiling diffusion styling with having the exposed beams.

Under most people’s avatar if they have included it on the left, you have something that says System(s). Click on that and it will show you their system(s)

Good point. I need to see how this can be done, so much more than just order because the custums/tariffs/taxes.....

Thank You for your input, you might be on my tour if I come to the US in the future ;-)

I have something that may be good for you, and me.  Danny had a pair of "NX-Otica MTM" flatpacks.  It's the top part of the NX-Otica meant to be paired with subs.  They were "the last ones".  I bought them and have crossovers for them, pictured below.  I ended up sticking with other speakers and never put them together.

The flatpacks are not perfect as there were a few dowel pin holes that were off.  Not sure that is a big deal for you though as what you really need are the baffles, which are fine.

I could send you these baffles and the completed networks.  I also have a pair of new Neo 3 tweeters.  You would need 4x M165NQ drivers from Danny.

To save $$$, I could send you drawing of the base and "wings".  You can cut those yourself there easily.  The waveguide in the baffle is the tough part, and you will have those.

This would allow you to hear the speaker type, to see if you like it.  You would obviously need to pair with subs / woofers.  If you decided to build the complete NX-Otica, then you would order the complete flatpacks and additional woofers from Danny.  You would be able to use much of this crossover and add what is needed for the "NX-Otica" version.

Doing it this way gets you into "that sound" for less $$$ and you can grow into it, as you like.  And, if you don't like it then at least you haven't spent as much $$$.

Anyone else interested in this stuff, feel free to reach out to me.

Thanks for sharing but I don't think a DIY from another DIY is my way forward, if you get my drift. You should have finished them instead.

Nice setups, have you ever felt the soundstage in your 2-channel to tilt? I just noticed the wall on the right and the open space on the left.

The reason I went with OB is because it's the only technology that can do well in a room like mine.  I tried tons of different box speakers and all of them had issues with soundstage shifting as well as with bass being too strong on the right speaker and too weak on the left speaker.  OB solved those problems, instantly.

I'm told that OB doesn't load the room as box speakers but I haven't experienced that myself. Interessting......as I have said, I have had no OB before...totally new to this. I have the room for them, no restraints... well..totally new ground for me.

/J

Plus, you'll need OB subs.  I've heard Danny's system twice.  The NX-Treme are very good - fast, ease, big depth. The OB Subs are GREAT.  OB bass is absolutely incredible, and is the most impressive / important thing, to me, about "Open Baffle".  I don't need open baffle midrange for the depth and soundstage I like - but I know others like it; however, it seems to me "everyone" has trouble dialing in great bass in their room.

This is definitely a challenge..if only there were a way for you to get a taste of the sound for a fraction of the cost before committing $$$.

Hi jmimac351,
I could be interested by your kit of MTM. I would not take the base and the sides to save on shipping (to Canada). I think it would be nice upgrade to my current setup: X-LS Encore and double OB sub.
Let me know if it is still available.

Agreed. OB bass offers 90% of the benefits of an OB system. While it's good to have OB treble, I placed my midrange driver in a sealed enclosure. It's a sound preference.

Sure.  I'll send you a message and show you what's going on. The baffles are perfect and have the proper angle machined into them so the wings are aimed correctly relative to the baffle.  I can send you templates for the wings so those will be right on as well.
