OK, excellent. That's what I thought. I just have some RCA cables running from the cheap DVD player to the amp until the actual one comes. I'll have to go buy a digital coaxial cable.
Does the DVD player have an optical digital out? I see the amp has an optical digital in, but I don't think the DVD player has that function.
Oh, and does the DVD player come with a cable to let you connect the two units together for the remote? Or do I need to get that cable, too? (I wonder, can I just use a cheap earphone-style cable?)
So far, I really like this unit. I also love the individual speaker set-up, and I liked the automatic set-up based on your "target" room size.
The only thing I wish is that it had an input for a DVR like a TiVo. Instead the DVD and DVR share the same input. So I have to put my TiVo through the DBS input instead. Other than that, I also don't like the remote. But no biggie there. I think my TiVo remote is the only remote I've ever owned that I think is truly user-friendly.
In response to the earlier post, I've had mine on a long time now and experienced no heat issues. But I'll be keeping an eye on that.
The best part was that setup was superfast for me. I just unhooked the cables from my old amp and into this one--everything made perfect sense. Then I set up the radio, etc. I also love how it "remembers" the setting for each component. So if you set up your TV to run analog stereo with a bass unit, but your DVD to be Dolby Digital, it remembers that as you switch between them. Makes it super-easy for the spouse.[/img]
