Baltimore way too tough for New England!
Flacco has come of age. A great 2nd half for him! I'd like to see them win it all, with the Ray Lewis story and all. I'm impressed with Balt. , to go into to New Enhland and spank them like this, wow.
28 to 13 now with two min.
Brady should have run the football on forth down, but he is a a pussy, when they were so close to a touchdown to make it a one score game.

I gotta say the way Baltimore played later in the season I really wasn't confident they'd go far in the playoffs at all, and tonight's first half didn't help.  But WOW, what a 3rd quarter!

Great game by the Ravens.  Brother vs brother Superbowl.   Two good teams going at it.  I can't wait!

Ditto.

Looking back, what happened to Houston?  Lost 3 out of their last 4 games and wound up sucking hind tit.  And isn't Wade Philips the defensive guru of the season?  Speaking of coaches, gotta lotta respect for John Harbaugh.  SF went after him hard with what is he done at Stanford.  Nice Super Bowl ahead, huh.

The Houston Defense never seemed to be the same after Cushing went down, and Schaub  never really elevated his game to that next level and almost seemed to take a step backwards this year.

Congratulations to both the Ravens and Niners for solid comeback victories.  Should be a good Super Bowl and for the record I'm going with the Ravens 27-21 :thumb:

It's the Harbowl!  Congrats to both teams, they both deserved the win, both played like winners.  But I have to say the ATL and New England came up small.  The Falcons had a 17 point lead and blew it again?  Last week they eked it out, this week only 7 points after the initial explosion.  Not the mark of a championship team.  The Niners on the other hand never got down, did a quick strike 14 points to get back in the game, and 10 down at the half, came out smokin' with 21 unanswered.  Where was the blitz?  Isn't rattling 1st year QBs defense 101? Against a read option offense, you have a monster back that spies the QB and blitzes every time he drops back.  I guess the pro coaches are too proud to watch college football.

New England was lackluster and poorly coached.  They never tried to rattle Flacco, playing coverage until the very end.  Notice when they did blitz him late, he was upset and didn't complete passes.  Belicheck should have blitzed at least a few times to keep Flacco honest.  He lost some d-backs early to injury and played scared with two deep safeties covering the wideouts, leaving the middle open all night.  And the offense, 5 trips in the red zone and one touchdown?  Josh Daniels shows once again how not to win, the Ravens never played back, they were all over the receivers, hitting them hard as soon as they got the ball, because there was no threat of a deep ball, not once.

I don't want to take anything away from San Fran and Baltimore, they played sound, winning football and as I said, deserved their wins.  Which is why there's not much to say about them.  But the two losing teams both had victory in their grasp and gave it away with poor performances and poor coaching.  Cheers for the victors, a Harbowl will be a lot of fun for all football fans.

Sometimes a good team plays poorly because the opponent won't let them play well.

Gotta love the drama in this Superbowl.  The 'Harbowl', The Ray Lewis story (sounds like a movie waiting to made!), the fact that Kaepernick's TENTH game as a starting QB is the Superbowl, can't make this stuff up!  I only hope that the old axiom of playoff games being better than the Superbowl doesn't hold true this year!  That said, these last 2 weeks of Football have truly been exceptional!

You probably hit the nail on the head.  Can't pick the SB, myself, but I will be watching for dang sure.  SF's offense is like an Aston Martin.  Baltimore's defense is like a Mack truck.  All the same, this may be a high scoring game.  And if it is, it'll probably be San Francisco at the end.

I will watch parts of it for sure, but if it turns into the traditional blowout, I will pass.

I am tired of Ray Lewis already, and can only imagine my fatigue after 2 solid weeks of marketing and hype.

I'm for SF in this one.

I was thinking that while writing my post.  I made some small attempt at noting something to that effect in the last paragraph.  But I have to point out that both losing teams were in the lead, one by 17, and still screwed the pooch.  The Ravens didn't drop all those balls for NE receivers and San Fran didn't cause the turnovers that lost Atlanta the game.  They took advantage of them and made the best of what was handed to them for sure, and it made the win for both teams, they each could have done nothing with the gifts and lost anyway.  I just really think it was the two losing teams errors rather than any sparkling plays by the winners, but your point is well taken and I can accept that as well.

So today I read that Brady isn't going to show up at the Pro Bowl due to an injury, the article didn't mention a word about the nature of the injury.  This seems to tie into something I was thinking during Sunday's game, Brady seems to be turning into a ....wuss.  (not the original word I had in mind but...).  I've seen boxers who, when starting out, are positively ferocious but as time goes on, as corny as it sounds, simply lose 'the eye of the tiger'.  I was thinking the same of Tom Brady on Sunday.  It wouldn't surprise me at all if TB were to retire during the off-season.

I think he's been dinged up a little almost all season.  Nothing major, but why bother with the ridiculous Pro Bowl even if healthy?  If I was him and had a nasty bruise it would be enough to keep me home.

Right!  I think President Obama is more likely to retire early than Tom Brady!  Anyways, does anyone really give a $hit about the Pro Bowl?  It's an honor to be chosen but I can no more imagine why someone would want to play in than actually watch it.

You guys are right.  Brady isn't going anywhere.  I was just reacting to what was for me, a dissapointing performance.  It is an honor to be selected for the Probowl, if he isn't truly hurt, than he's just being arrogant.  And to be honest, I like atheletes who show some arrogance and swagger.  AND, in over 45 yrs of being a football fan, I've never watched a probowl!  So what's my problem?  When I figure it out I'll letcha know! :icon_twisted:

The Pro Bowl used to be a good solid scrimmage.  No one was looking to get hurt or hurt anyone, but blocks were actually made, the D-line tried to get to the QB, passes were contested, tackles were made, etc.  It had the feel of a real game at 8/10ths intensity.  In other words you could watch it without getting sick to the stomach.  If you had nothing better to do that day you might turn it on to see your team's QB play or something.  Now it's a travesty to be avoided at all costs lest your football fan mojo be damaged.

As I understand it the game was to be cancelled, and the players talked the commish into one more year because they promised to play harder.  I might give it a 60 second chance to see if they do, unless there's a replay of Heidi on another channel of course.

I imagine the players get a paycheck.

A recent documentary said players only get paid during the season, and go without during Feb-Sep.  And some of the dummies run out of cash in that period.   :dunno: :slap: :wtf:

I guess I'll pick SF.  They have a sensational offense is why.  I'm aware that the Ravens have scored an average 30 points a game in the playoffs so their offense is way capable, but, I just happen to think that brother Jim is smarter than brother John.  Both teams have momentum.  Ougtta be a close game to the wire.  And, I figure it will be one of the most entertaining SB's we've seen.
