Rclark, your Seahawks are on fire.  After the Pats spank the Niners tonight, your team will be tied for first.  They are young, but the offense is really clicking. Congrats and good luck.

The Giants laid an egg today. What a disgraceful performance.  My Bears are officially dead although some would say they actually died over a month ago.  Steelers/Cowboys is entertaining and I'm looking forward to the Parriots game.  I think it's the late game.   Hope it's not Monday.

Cheers

Jack

Yeah, man, the Seahawks are fabulous!  They wild card as expected and play the Niner's, right?  I'd love to see them smoke those guys.

Well, that's two games in a row where Romo hasn't screwed something up.  The Cowboys are catching fire at the right time.  Lots of Steeler fans were present it sounded like.  I haven't seen any tapes on the NY game but what an embarrassment.  I'll be watching for the headlines in the Post and Times tomorrow morning.  I had picked NY to win the East.  Gotta root for the Skins now.

Sorry about Chicago, Jackman.

The Bears don't deserve to be in the playoffs. They have no offense.  I'm not sure about some of the offensive pass interference calls that went against the bears but did not enjoy watching that game.  I hope the Pack wins the Super Bowl this year!

Wishful thinking I guess.  They made it interesting but blew it on that third and two call. Congrats.  The Niners look good!  This could be their year.

You think espn is biased towards east coast teams?  Their rediculois coverage is one reason I always root againt east coast teams...the other reason is their irritating fans.

Hey, take it easy on some of us"east-coast fans". We have enough to deal with, with coach "I'll have to do a better job on that!" ( after almost every game for the last 2 or 3yrs ) Andy Reid. It's amazing how no one in the local sports media has the guts to say " Andy, you've made this comment at the after game press conference, just about every week maybe you are'nt cut out for this job!" (Andy may be going after this year, So , hopefully we can say "Bye Andy, don't let the door hit you on the a%s on your way out !)

:thumb: "Hit the road Andy, & don'tcha come back no more, no more,no more ,no more !" Hey we're civilized, there's no planned Tar & Feathering...Yet !!!

I'm not predicting as it would be a long shot at this point, but wouldn't it be something to see a rematch of Super Bowl XXII with Washington and Denver? My number one and number two teams now.

Wouldn't want to face Peyton with Washington's challenged secondary.

Jack, Man we do our best to irritate you!! Good to know we are succeeding :)

Steve, you're right, but not right enough.  Andy has been sayin' that same spiel for the whole 14 years.  And Andy will definitely, positively, stone cold mortal lock, be outta here at the end of this year.  And although the TV guys don't rock the Eagle boat, if you listen to the new WIP 94FM and 97FM (whatever they call it), Glen Macnow and Mikey Misinelli respectively will always trash Andy's delivery at the weekly torture sessions, I mean press conferences.  Reminds me of the '73 Steelers, About Three Bricks Shy of a Load, except that team went on to win four Super Bowls and Andy's Eagles are always stuck in 1973.

Wait a minute.  We're the irritating one's?  Have you been to Chicago?  The world is certainly ending in a couple of days because we're already entering an alternate universe.

So, in the NFC East, wha happens this weekend?  Surely Washington can beat Philly and Washington is up a half game in the division if I have that right.  Can New York beat Baltimore?  Baltimore is not scoring well these days and Manning is known for super good performance is the playoffs and this is bout as near to the playoffs as you can get.  I think NY gets it together.  Last but not least is Dallas vs. New Orleans.  Well, Dallas in on a roll, Romo has been perfect their last two games.  So, if you were New Orleans with basically nothing to lose what would you do?  This game might be more fun than Robin at a nudist camp :thumb:

Starting with New Orleans at Dallas, it's nearly a pick'em game with Dallas giving a point to the slightly underdog Saints.  Brees has a 93 QBR with a 62% comp percentage, Romo a 90 QBR with a nearly 67% comp percent, so the QB's are a toss up.  They've split the last four meetings, but Dallas is 3-1 over the last four games this year and NO is 1-3 over the same period.  NO is ranked ahead of Dallas in one power ranking and Dallas is ahead in the other.  Dallas is 1-5 against top ten teams, the Saints are 1-6 against top ten teams.  The both have most of their key players at least probable for Sunday.  So based purely on guesswork and their better recent record, I'll go with Dallas.

Tonight is Atlanta at Detroit, with the only question being how bad will Atlanta beat them.  The points are 3.5, I have it at 8.5.

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh with the oddsmakers having it -3 in the Stillers favor, but predictors have it a virtual pick'em.  Based on Big Ben's 98 QBR vs Dalton's 89, and Pittsburgh winning the last five meetings, I'll give a very shaky nod to Pittsburgh.

N.Y. Giants at Baltimore with the G-men giving 2.5 points, my favorite predictor virtually agreeing at 2 points, but another having it as a pick'em.  Flacco and Manning have identical stats this year (surprisingly so), but Baltimore is very beat up and have lost three straight.  The G-men have gone L-W-L-W-L over the last five, so are on pace for a W this week.

San Francisco at Seattle, the best game on tap this week is held for last on Sunday night.  A pick'em game with the oddsmakers, the predictors nearly agree with one matching the bookies and another having Seattle as a 1.75 point dog.  Kaepernick's 101.4 QBR and 65.6% completion rate against Wilson's 95.5 QBR and completing at 62.89%.  San Fran has won the last four meetings.  The Niner's have a long list of dinged up players expected to play, Seattle is hurting bad in their secondary.  I'll go with San Francisco in a close one.

Good rationale, Let.  Don't see how I could argue with that.  We shall see soon.

Hard to argue with your logic but I'm hoping a couple games go the other way.  The Giants looked pathetic last week and I think the Ravens will show them the exit door to playoff contention.  I give this game to Balt because they are at home.  As fun as it is to see Dallas lose, I think they will marginally beat the Saints.  Will be rooting against Jerry's kids again this week as always.

Lastly, the most entertaining game if the week is in Seattle. The Niners are a better team overall but I've adopted the Seahawks as my team.  They are young and have put up some impressive performances over the past couple weeks.  I wouldn't be on it but will be pulling for the Seahawks.  Also, it's fun to see Harbaugh's face when his team loses a big game.  Two hot teams playing  some good football.  This is the only game I'm watching this week.

As a former life time Cowboys fan*, I hate the 49'ers.  More important than what happens today (GO Seahawks), I hope they fall in the playoffs, but they might not.  I think they are that good.  For some reason, I've gotten beyond that same feeling for Pittsburg and for the same reason and generally cheer for them.  The Giants make me nervous about picking them to do much.  I hope they do well IF they earn it but they couldn't score a single point last week which boggles the brain so I am luke warm about their success even for this weekend.  Too close for me to call the AFC, but the 49'ers will likely win the NFC, imo.  New Orleans ought to throw the kitchen sink at Romo on defense tho I'm thinking Dallas will plan for that.  Let's see how well Dallas' respective coordinators play this one.  Wouldn't be surprised if they have it together- they won't want Romo holding on to the ball.  Lots of quick stuff I imagine to keep NO's defense guessing.  I guess I'll pick em.  They have more of a reason to win.

*which has been disputed by Robin .

Just in case anyone is still struggling with a gift idea for a Detroit Lions fan, don't forget the 2013 Detroit Lions Wall Calendar. It seems to capture all of the glory this franchise brings to the League.  :thumb:

At least y'all Loins have Megatron and a QB who can throw it to him. Think about being an AZ fan with Fitzgerald on that roster...

Summing up the Detroit calendar nicely:

I agree as well, I love plucky little teams like Seattle, teams with a fast, hard hitting defense and an offence that doesn't quit.  You can't help but like them, however I would remind everyone this is the exact description we had for San Fran a year ago.  Just because San Fran has done it again this year suddenly they're the old, dynasty team?  Anyway, should be a great game, we all agree on that.

I openly hate all things Cowgirl and am proud of it.  They are sickening from the owner on down.  Having Josh Brent on the sidelines last week proves how despicable they are.  However I still see them as a very slight favorite for this week.  The same with the Giants, but I respect them a lot more, as I do the Redskins, so it's not as painful picking them as favorites this week.  I agree the G-men can lay an egg this week, I have little confidence in my pick, but I would like to see Baltimore lose.

A fun time of year for teams still in a race, not so much for the others.  But it allows fans and the networks to concentrate on far fewer games.  Leaves more time for stereo:

From Bill Simmons' Mail Bag. Not I am even more psyched about this game tonight:

Q: I really hope you realize that the scene in Seattle on Sunday night will be like no other scene from SNF ever. Everyone in Seattle is ready for this game. Since Christmas Eve is the next day, nobody will have to work the next day so the crowd will be buzzing (and I don't just mean loud). You probably know but for everyone who hasn't been to Seattle, Safeco Field( Home of the Mariners) is right across the street from the Clink (Home of the Seahawks) and they are advertising on Twitter on Thursday (3 days before the game) that they will be open 3 hours before the game selling $5 24 oz beers. You can check the official Twitter feed for the Mariners. It is there. And this is Seattle so those beers aren't going to be just Bud Lights. We are talking seasonal microbrews that pack a bigger punch. I can't describe how excited people are in Seattle for this game. You wrote it earlier this year, "The Seahawks will go undefeated at home this year." As long as the world doesn't end on Friday, never go against the Seahawks at home.
—Kyle Miller, Seattle
