Sad day in the Tanner Household Today
« on: 31 Mar 2012, 07:38 pm »
Hi Folks,

Feeling blue today - had to put down my best friend - Tyson was a 9 year old chocolate Lab we had in our family since he was a pup. He had a stroke and we tried everything but no luck. He was a simple soul and a terrific friend - I will truly miss him.

James - so sorry to hear that.  I still really miss my dog and I had to put him to sleep around Thanksgiving of 2004. He was 13 and a few years before that had ACL surgery.  Had hip problems too - was a Norwegian Elkhound that was about 75 lbs.

So sorry for the loss of your friend. I still miss mine. I take some solace with Rainbow Bridge.

Hi James,

I am so sorry to hear that.  When our cat died, we cried for 3 days.  It's been a year and a half and we still miss her.

Take care

Sorry to hear it James.  Had to do that myself about two years ago.  It's tough.

Hang in there....

These gentle souls are truly "candles in the wind," they burn so brightly and their time with us is all too brief. Unconditional love? Just look into their big brown eyes and it is all there. One of the hardest decisions I have ever made was to euthanize our best friend Apollo, he needed me to be strong and help end his pain and I was not going to let my big guy down. I cried everyday for almost a month after I lost him and I still do from time to time - like right now.

James, I feel very bad for the loss of your friend - it is never easy.

Sorry to hear your loss. I recently lost my 17 year friend, Mozart, my pet cockatiel. He suddenly was dizzy, then again he seemed out of it, so I was holding him, he started breathing hard, and i knew it was the end (heart giving out, Cockatiels live about 17 years average/long life)
He died in my hands. I cried so hard. he really will also be missed.
A pet really is a part of one's family.
So, again, sorry to hear you lost your great friend.

It breaks my heart when such a loyal family member passes.  Be strong, Jim, it won't be long and the desire for a new friend will start.

James, it's always hard to lose these speechless friends of our that provide such unconditional love.  Time is the only healer of such wounds but we'll always remember such good friends.

Two years ago our family dog - Copper, a Jack Russell terrier died of complications due to long term diabetes.  I've never seen my Dad cry like that, not even when his own brother passed.  Just goes to show you how close and dear these little partners can be.

I feel for you.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your friend, James.
Our 'critters' bring us so much more than we give them with a bite to eat and a place to sleep, as you feel the loss of now.
Certainly, they are a gift from the Eternal, and there isn't one I've had in my life that wouldn't make me weep to see again.
Just remember the love he brought you, selflessly.
Remember the good times and know he would want you to feel better.  You will, eventually.  I wish you well.
                                  Best Regards,
                                        Bill
