  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments - they are truly appreciated and I have been teary all day and when I read some of your comments they were truly helpful.  The house just feels so empty without Tyson - I have a huge hole in my heart and I hope as many of you have said that I can move forward by remembing the good times and eventually the pain will subside.

Thanks again everyone.

Tyson will also miss his best friend, James. I'm sure he was the happiest hanging out with you, enjoying the wonderful music that filled your home and all of your family and friends who were lucky enough to meet him.

My condolences, James.  Pets aren't just pets; they're family.

One of the hardest days of my and my father's life was putting down our Doberman.  In hindsight, we made the right decision at the right time.  When it's time, it's time.  The most important thing is the pet's comfort, not our own comfort IMO.

Sorry for your loss. He was a great looking dog. I know how it feels because
I had to put down my 17 year cat, Sadie, 3 weeks ago. It was a terribly hard thing to do but it was the right thing. Of course I still miss her very much.

Sorry for your loss. We put down our black lab 4 years ago.
We waited 3 years and now have another black lab.
My condolences!

Really sorry to hear about your loss, James. I just went through this with my 16 year old Bichon just a few weeks ago. I was a mess for a good five or six days, and I miss him terribly. As sad as it is to say goodbye to our furry friends, it warms my heart to hear about others who loved their dogs (and non-dogs) to the fullest.

My deep regrets, James.

I know how you feel.  I lost Stanley, my loving grey tabby cat a month ago.  Its really hard to loose such loyal friends.

Give it some time to heal the heart then fill the hole with a new pup.  I, too, experienced a pet loss late last year so you have one more animal lover's condolences.

Agreed.  I'm so sorry James.  Losing a family dog is painfully difficult.  We lost our last one March 10, 2010 and it feels like yesterday sometimes.  Grieve, bond with the family, then find a new pup to fill that void.
