That's a good read.  Someone referred to Chris Martens as "a whore for the advertisers".

I assume that Harmon had him write something to try to do some damage control.

This really is very sad for Harman International...Dr. Sidney Harman was forced to abdicate his CEO post about two years ago to another (Dinesh Paliwal).  I wonder if an overemphasis to profits from the new head had much or all to do with this gaffe.

How far the mighty hath fallen - these guys are responsible for the world’s first true hi-fi receiver, the TA230 stereo receiver (1958); the first ultrawide-bandwidth amplifier, the Citation II (1959); the first cassette deck with Dolby* B noise reduction, the CAD5 (1970); and the first high-current-capability amplifier, the Citation XX (1980). As well as holding company for some of the most storied names in hi-fi history:

    * AKG Acoustics - microphone/headphones
    * Audio Access - A/V controllers
    * Becker Autosound - car infotainment
    * BSS Audio - signal processing
    * Crown International - pro amplifiers
    * dbx Professional Products - signal processors
    * DigiTech - guitar products
    * harman kardon - home/car audio
    * Infinity - home/car speakers
    * JBL - home/car speakers & amplifiers, professional speakers
    * Lexicon - digital processing
    * Mark Levinson - home/car audio
    * QNX - real-time OS software, voice processing, car multimedia
    * Revel - home speakers
    * Soundcraft - mixing consoles
    * Studer - digital recording

Which would you rather have a Ford Pinto that looked like a Lexus, or a Lexus that looked like a Ford Pinto?

I think posers would go for option one and fugitives from the IRS option 2   8)
