Jackman,
We're going for ugly audio, not erotic audio.
Shame on you.

I must admit, the Wilsons always make me think of municipal trash receptacles found outside of your local bus stop.

These Spica Angelus speakers always come to mind first when I think of ugly audio components. They are hideous, I don't care how they sound.

Okay, those speakers aren't necessarily ugly but the lady caressing a long object with a round end or tip gave me the wrong idea. that speaker is only ugly in a "bumpin' uglies" sort of way.  Lets get back to ugly gear talk...

It's not as ugly as the new Linkwitz loudspeaker design IMHO.  :duh:

See I look at that but I realize there is some extreme technology going on, and that makes me like it.

Plus that sub motor looks vicious.

Yup, the extreme technology looks awesome but the actual loudspeaker design to me is dirt ugly.

Agreed. Butt ugly. Other candidates for ugliest speaker are green mountain audio speakers and the cabese speakers at rmaf that look like they were made by Martians in war of the worlds.

Sort of reminds me of some models of Green Mountain Audio speakers from about 10 years ago.  Looked ugly, sounded wonderful.

I'm posting this from my phone...I will try to hunt down a pic tomorrow.

MAN -  :o that Linkwitz is even uglier than the GR13 (?).  While the former looks DIY - the latter looks like they have the resources but are not even trying.......

I'm gonna stick up for Wilson : yes, the Sasha's, Sophia's and Alexia's may have a trash can profile : but what incredibly finished trash cans! Not gonna say anything about how they sound.......but for cosmetics, I dig em.  :thumb:

It is a prototype... the Linkwitz.. I have no idea why I'm sticking up for it, no, it's not particularly attractive, but I like it for it's functional beauty, but it is the proto.

Has a bit of this going for it:

What's more beautiful, an F1 car or a Ferrari Spyder California? Same thing. The F1 car destroys. And that's all that matters.

 that's hysterical!  I'd actually go for an "Alien" looking speaker.  Think more speaker companies should really go for the ultra fearful avant-garde look. It would be something new - and new draws eyeballs & sells.....

For me, everytime I see a pic of this amp, I cringe.

It's performance from a sound quality viewpoint may be extraordinary [don't know, I haven't heard it] but the visual of this product it is just wrong. Anodized bezel. fine. Protruding fasteners: Ugh. Arts and crafts class or Linux graphics branding -10. combination...deadly.

The color scheme does match my AC avatar, go figure!!

[sorry, professional industrial designer in the house, who loves vernacular design, so I have an appreciation of "high design" and "honest design"]

This makes the Ampzilla look like a thing of beauty.  No accounting for taste, I guess.
