That's a great idea.  I just ordered a second one...

My current Classic will have the VPI arm and the second one will have an Eminent Technologies ET2.5 with carbon fiber arm.  I'm really excited about that.  VPI and ET used to be a fantastic combination years ago, and I'm pretty confident this will be great.

I think my next step will be some EdenSound TerraStone Footers for the Classic 1.  He offers a trial and everyone that I've spoken wtih says the result is really good.

He makes them as a direct replacement for the VPI tables too.

I didn't see the footers specific for the VPI. Are they custom ordered?

He doesnt' list them as a VPI product for some reason but he stocks them.  You can email or call.  Super easy to deal with.

Here's a thread on Audiogon that I started about them.  http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?eanlg&1341175922&&&/edenSound-Footers-TerraStone-

Yes, I know they will be on vacation as seen on their FB page.  I'm just trying to figure out what that has to do with anything in this thread.

My mistake / mis-read.  I was referring to VPI being closed for two weeks.

An AC member was kind enough to loan me his Fosgate-Fozgometer.  Here are the results.

So I tried some edenSound TerraStone Footers on the Classic 1.  I was pretty close to not installing them as they don't look like anything that special but I was pleasantly surprised actually.  They subjectively took the performace up a level.  What I noticed more then anything is slight less smear which lead to more detail.

I might buy a plinth from Dan (edenSound) when I get past RMAF.
