This is all about technique. A marvelous player and, if you love jazz guitar, you'll hear a lot of the same chords and licks you hear from other players. No bad thing. But the thing Bruno does is...he plays them twice as fast! Check out his version of Joy Spring on YouTube.

I've always deviated from the "standard bearer" types. And while I recognize they have made a significant mark on the field of guitar players, when tasting the varied and deep pool of talent that's out there I have to conclude my favorites are decidedly not based on general popularity, which often times has far more to do with marketing and availability than talent.
