he was sure rocking out in the sweet-spot to his selection of tunes.

To me, that's all that matters now.

How are the Samson amps now that you have had time to break them in and enjoy them?

You certainly have peaked my interest.

you mention special wiring requirements
can you explain further

I have AcousticZen Satori Shotgun speaker wire

multiple strand, zero crystal design

The Samsons with the Dude are awesome.  Not sure how they would sound with other preamps.

No special wiring required.  Paul recommends very large gauge wiring for all the cables to keep the inductance low.  You overpaid for your SC's.  I'll build you some cables to try.

thanks for the response Pete

I had thought I read a comment from you on braided versus straight wiring for the samsons

I have the Moscode and the Bat and am sizing up an amp for the SS 10s

Look very nice and functionable

I had some cheapo Sanus stands which are for sale here:

Right now I am back to the Adona stands.  They are bigger and bulkier and more manly!  But they take up precious space in the entry to the room.

Earlier in this thread I posted some lower priced digital cables I auditioned.  Kept the Wywire as the smoothest, most musical.  I now have 2 more higher priced cables coming to try:

Elco Audio Ulimate UDC-S  retails at $650
MIT Digital Reference  $400

The Elco is a solid silver wire so we will see.  I have a solid silver cable already and it is not bad.

I was building some cables for someone and decided to build another PC for myself.  Somewhat misleading, but the overall gauge is 3.  It is shielded and I ran the ground around the outside for a cool look.  No-name connectors with reported Rhodium plating.  Very stiff.  5 feet long.  I ran it 4 days on the Audiodharma cooker but have not tried it out yet.

Sad day coming.  Still waiting for the exchange, but I sold my beloved HT2TL's. :bawl:

So I have now owned 5 Salk models:

HT3's - check
V3's - check
Archos - check
SongTowers - check
HT2TL's - check

Now I have to figure out which model to select next.

There are 3 new designs in the shop - 2 in mule form and one you have seen recently.  I'm waiting for one of the two mules to be finished so I can audition it next week.  The other was very impressive but Jim is still tinkering and noodling.

I do my Christmas shopping at the factory!

Ok.  So a Salk product for sure then.

Do it once and be done then.  Think of the money you've spent on electronics....much less then those.

If my room were bigger, perhaps an electrostat, but most box speakers don't excite me unless we get over $20k and I can't go there for at least 2 years.  So for the value and the sound I like, Jim is the guy.
