When Brian announced he was using the new TC Sound woofers - my interest was a little more than peaked.
Unfortunately I just cant afford to buy one from a manufacture.
I am however handy with power tools and wood so I figured I would give it a shot myself.
I owned a Larger and took all the dimensions of it.
This is not done yet - I am going to do one more layer of plywood and a layer of solid wood and the drivers will be flushed.
I wanted to hear/feel the results before I invested in the plywood and solid wood...
So far the difference is night and day - we measured solid in room down to 15hz with the sub hardly breaking a sweat. Utilized a Crown XLS2500 (800 per woofer) and the amp was clipping while the amp laughed.
The final design will have an aluminum plate with insulated binding post and dual XLS1500 amps bridged (1555 watts at 4 ohms) driving it.
Tonight was impressive and my house needs to be reinforced...
