How all that sound can come from a mass produced plastic disc never ceases to amaze me. Enjoy!
I know we've got different opinions on the Denon DL-S1 in our respective systems, but it continues to be a great match here CheersDave
Couldn't Stand The Weather is indeed a masterpiece with amazing dynamics and soundstage a mile wide. Tin Pan Alley is one of my favorites.
I was over at the Asylum and John Ellison mentioned that he's using the DL-S1. Seems like he stumbled on a 30 ohm load by accident, and that's what is working out for him. Must admit I never would have thought to try that. The cart has an impedance of 30 or 40 ohms. I could hear the potential but couldn't quite get it nailed down. Glad it's working out for you.BTW, you should take the M20FL Super off your site. Those samples are NOT representative of the cart. You got a dud. I don't care what Thakker said. He probably never even tested it after you sent it back. More likely he just gave you a refund and said something to make you feel obligated to get something else from him. That's how dealers operate. Trust me, I know.neo
Ahhh, Dave is in the vinyl zone tonite...a great place to be Those digiphile audiophools just don't know what they're missing John
Yep, we know very well. No more snaps, crackles, and pops.
Hi Ozark,You're obviously suffering from a case of digititus nervosa. Nothing to be ashamed of, it's a disease. Symptoms include inability to distinguish harmonic and tonal content in music reproductions, and loss of judgement, ie. ability to discern appropriate places to go to the bathroom. Sometimes suffers from this disease also have delusions of grandeur. There is a cure, but as with many suffering from nervous system disorders, you probably don't want to hear it.Get well soon, neo
Tin Pan Alley is one of my favorites.

I wondered about that. Maybe the three Absolute Sound reviewers gave it to me. I was at the CES show in a room with three of their top reviewers, HP was not there. The room had a Sota TT, SME 3009 tonearm, and Koetsu Roseood cartridge, about $3300 at that time. They also had a CAL CD player, $795 retail. I had taken my CD of The Nylons to the show. They had the LP, so the fun of it, I challengd everyone in the room to compare the difference.Everyone there was confident the analog would beat the digital handily. But everyone picked the CD as superior, six people total. It was real funny to watch the Absolute Sound reviwer's faces turn red with bewilderment. Yep, maybe they gave me that disease.I was a high-end dealer for about 15 years, and every customer I ever challenged picked the CD as superior. I had Sota, Linn, VPI, and Micro-Seiki TT's to compare them too. I used the best tonearms with Koetsu cartridges.
