I realize I might be late to the party, but is this deal still available?

I'll extend this sale through the month of October just for memebrs of AC.

November anyone?  :green:

Hi

I became a member here but not very active. I'm also a member of an India centric AV forum where I'm more active. One of our forum members has provided a link for this thread.

I'm interested in this deal if it is still on. I may also rope in a few others to commit to the deal. How much would it cost to ship it to India?

38 pounds to you with insurance is $225. Ouch! That was also via USPS, priority mail.

OUCH :cry:And I was thinking of two drivers with one plate amp. Would a group buy make it more cost effective? I mean, cost of shipping and insurance would not add up incrementally (Hopefully)

How well would these drivers work in a sonotube application?

Let me back up and say that my goal is to build an "end table" for the Wife. I am still deciding if I want a box type or sonotube type. I am concerned that the sonotube might need to be too tall to use as an end table.

Any thoughts and suggestions?

I can't visualize how you would build a sonotube into an end table, what are you thinking?

Something like this with a larger top. Basically I just want it at a height that would work as an end table, not 6 ft tall like many of the sono builds are.

Danny,

Are the cutouts for the SW12-B driver the same as the servo drivers?  I'm looking at the front baffles A and B of the plans for the single servo sub as a reference.

More rookie questions:

If building a dual subwoofer where both drivers are facing the front.  Should one build separate stacked chambers of 1.2 cubic feet volume?  Or can both drivers share one common 2.4 cubic feet chamber?

I see, that is a good idea.

Since it only needs 1.2 ft^3 that makes a pretty small cylinder. A radius of 6" and a height of 18" gets me a volume of 1.18 ft^3.
No reason that you couldn't use this in a sonotube.

Thanks.  Out of phase, double the internal size is my answer then.

An 11" hole.

I like separate air spaces because it adds a lot of support as a brace.

Danny...
What size is the negative connector on the SA-1?  The positive is 3/16 but I can't find a male connector for the negative.  I prefer not to cut and strip the wire.

I hadn't even noticed. If connecting to one of the Eminence woofers in the V-2 they are perfectly sided for that woofer. If connecting to something else I usually cut and solder.

Help me understand something.  Danny mentioned the SW-12B should be able to get -3db down into the 20's in a 1.2 cu ft sealed box.  I am a noob at this but in order to understand how the different specifications of a driver affects its performance, i started playing with it in BassBox 6 Pro.

I plugged in all the specs of the SW-12B in BB6 Pro - 2 drivers in parallel, in a 2.4 cu ft sealed box, and this is the graph I get

Green is 2x SW-12B in 2.4 cu ft sealed box
Red is Dayton RSS390HF-4 15" in 3 cu ft sealed box

As you can see, graph shows -3db at 45Hz.  What am I doing wrong?

Also I decided to draw up some ported graphs, and it BB6 shows the ported designs with F3 in the 20's

Gray is 2x SW-12B drivers in 4.6 cu ft vented enclosure tuned to 25Hz
Pink is Dayton RSS390HF-4 in 4.6 cu ft vented tuned to 20Hz

I should mention that I don't really know what I'm doing in BB6 Pro.  Im just playing around and trying to understand

That is with our SA-1 amp with built in transform circuit.

ah ok.  but the transform circuit will be bypassed with a LFE input, right?  My receiver (Onkyo TX-SR876) only has a LFE out for subwoofer.  Since this setup will be mostly used for a home theater, should I go with a ported enclosure then, in order to get output in the 20's?

Just use the line-in instead of the LFE on the plate amp.  If you need it, you can get one of these:
