Chris recently made me a beautiful curly maple table.
He does very nice work.
Maybe he will post a picture of it.

Howdy folks!  Today we're going to play "Spot The Better Value!"

15x18x2" Finished Maple stereo turntable or amplifier platform Price: $80.00

Knobs are custom made with beech wood and bronze where the bronze is used as the insert to mount to the stem of the volume pot.  Price: $485.00

Solidwood - you do amazing work, but let's face it buddy, you're never gonna be able to afford your own private space shuttle with those sissy, lowball prices! Come on now, get with the program!  You can get away with a LOT more with these audiophiles than you can with people who buy butcher blocks and end tables!   :thumb:

I agree on the cheekerboard platform.  It'd be a shame to cover it up with a metal box.

Here is a nice little rack for all those who can't afford a expensive rack

It is 36" tall with usable shelf space of 15" deep and 17" wide

I can also modify this for you to meet your needs

The cost is $275

Hi Chris,

The case hardened 3/4 - 10 flange nuts at http://www.mcmaster.com/ are a very nice one piece unit and are an extremely durable black.  If you don't want black, then standard steel is available at the same $3.29 per...

Hi Tbabb,

Do a search on 'all thread' at the above mcmaster link, then just click on plain steel or zinc finish to narrow your search.   3' x 3/4" x 10 rods will run $6.00 to $7.50 each, plus shipping...   Believe it or not, I don't work there!

I have added a line of   BLACK LAQUER PLATFORMS

They are very hard to make because the Black will show defects that the human eye can't see.
They have to be finely sanded a lot more than any thing I make
