Recently purchased the same bench plane.  After using it, I was very happy that I had recently installed a central dust control system.

I purchased a pair of Dynaudio XEO 3 wireless speakers to use in the kitchen.  They are absolutely amazing!

Hi Steve,

This is my first bench plane and I am also very pleased with the freedom you get from it to custom mill your own work - it does produce an insane amount of sawdust  :D

If you have the space, might consider a mini-Gorilla or Gorilla.  I mounted mine on the wall and have my bench plane, DW718, and table saw, etc. connected via overhead conduit.  Much better than "shop-vac" type set up.

Hello Steve  :D

The sales representative definitely recommended a dust collector when I purchased the bench plane and I opted for the CX 404 @ 1HP/825 CFM model. As I did not do a lot of woodworking before I started my room renovation, a portable dust collector that could be wheeled up to what ever machine I was using fits the bill nicely and it still  on 110 volts. I managed to rig up my palm sander to the dust collector and it is a joy not to have all the sawdust floating around in the air.

Congrats James  :thumb: Great to see you are getting to enjoy! Looking at that one pic with the record, I would recommend you give your record a cleaning prior to allow your fragile needle run threw such

I received these two tables recently - TechDAS Air Force One - my dream table! and total game changer for me - "Bob Graham of Graham Tone Arms is in in one pic setting up his Elite arm - "only one currently in the world" and the other table from Artisan Fidelity being the first Achates ever built as per spec with inverted bearing - finished in African Padauk with StillPoint Ultra 5 feet, I had commissioned this prior to pulling the trigger on the AF-1 and just recently received. Looks absolutely stunning in person.

Nice Tables guys - I just picked up a Rega P-3 too.  I think a lot of us old duffers are going to start buying turntables again after we have worked with CD's computer files and now are longing for our nostalgia.

Headphones and Turntables are going to make a resurgence based on the boomers and also the newer young crew.

Hi James
Well what do you know! I just bought the same table two weeks ago from - Play the record - on Yonge st.  It is very well build and heavy. I was actually looking for a Technics SL-1210 but the prices are insane for a new one now that they are discontinued , then I started looking for an alternative and found the Stanton and I am happy I did. What cartridge do you use and recommend? I see an Ortofon in the picture.

Hi George

The cartridge that came with the table was just awful so I have used Ortofon cartridges for a while with our moving coil stage with good success. This is one I had and is a Kontrapunkt C moving coil.

Latest aquisition: Cardas parsec cables. I tried one, liked it, bought another, then three more, and finally two more than that.
So the whole system is going to be wired with Parsec interconnects.

Saved some money buying them from TheCableCo .. About 11% plus I traded in two old IC sets to drop the price of my $$killer... a seven meter run from pre to amp. So I knocked down that particular IC from $1161 at discount,. to only $595 my cost. then i have been selling old bits of wire and stuff so I can knock off another $200 at this point from the cost.
I never had all one kind of wire before. i kind of jumped off the cliff on it.. So I hope i am gonna be happy!

A new Bryston 6B SST2. Ordered it two weeks ago and the wait is killing me (well, not really). Here's where appreciation for their products being hand built and thoroughly tested comes in conflict with wanting it right away.  :D

So true :icon_arrow:  Today's society seems to want items right now without any attention to quality or financial considerations. Case-in-point, when I was assembling my audio gear, I had a purchase plan of a little over a year to "buy as I went." A friend suggested to go to the bank and borrow the funds to purchase everything at once  :nono: I had a smile a couple of weeks ago driving past a local car dealership, they were advertising "no payments for one year on their auto loans" with terms of up to 96 months :duh:

When you get the 6B, the smile on your face will be priceless  :D

Be well...
